Definitely night. Without external constraints I am essentially nocturnal.

I was diagnosed with AS at 18 but now I'm starting to question if I might have been diagnosed with something else in the past and my dad never told me considering how he treats my AS. Another possibility is that you were never diagnosed because your parents made sure it didn't happen, which is what...

It sounds like he was possibly abused as a child ("his father did worse to him"). Many abusive adults were abused children. And children with disabilities are much more likely to be abused. While his behavior is not likely a direct result of his autism, it may be a result of maltreatment he received...

Did you catch the part where i conceded my point, what can i say i read the studies you posted they have brain patterns related to ADD, physical factual evidence.

Yes... Did you just mean to concede that point, or the entire argument? Sorry if I misunderstood.

I did? I quoted from three different posts there. I don't think I missed anything.

However you are still putting words in my mouth, at no point did i claim that AS was not real nor did i claim mental illnesses in general are not real, that is putting words in my mouth. No, I am not putting words in your mouth as I never said you claimed either of those things. I said that, follow...

Perspective-taking: 12
Fantasy: 3
Empathic concern: 18
Personal distress: 13

I found the "personal distress" questions rather confusing because I tend to get very distressed in emotionally "dangerous" situations but not distressed in physically dangerous ones.

My friend Taylor (real example) has hyperkinesis, Taylor has had up to twenty people (not an exaggeration) screaming(also not an exaggeration) his name at him from ten feet away whilst he stares blankly right through them lost in his own mind. But that is a behavioral characteristic, not a physical...

The best way to start a debate is to state a firm belief in something so people are inclined to disagree. OK, but then don't complain when people argue with you as though you have a firm belief. And you seem to be misunderstanding my standpoint, i am saying there is something that is being diagnose...

Interesting question. I guess mine is lowercase because I thought of it like a URL or an email address. Though I guess since it is my first name and last initial you could argue that it should be DougN. That just looks awkward to me though. Maybe Doug_N is less bad but anyway I can't change it now a...

Yes i am aware that autism did not exist but you were still diagnosed if you were low functioning, the diagnosis was just a bit different. You just got the crazy stamp and got put in cold water or something. If the fact that only people with very severe ADHD-like symptoms would have been diagnosed ...

I'm really sorry you've experienced such horrible pain, but I'm not really sure what you're looking for. Are you looking for solidarity with others who have experienced the same thing? Or are you looking for people who have had it even worse than you, so you can feel better about yourself? Or are yo...

Actually that the diagnostics in the US are overly broad thus it is overdiagnosed here is exactly what ive been claiming.

Then you should have said that in the first place.

You realize that autism didn't "exist" 100 years ago either, right?
