my son worked in a stationers and sold paper shredders. One customer asked about a particular machine 'does this one shred coloured paper a well or just black and white?' 8O WOW, I wonder what she thought it was! Mitch8817, No, I even implied here that AS IS autism, and it is. I am just simply saying that there has to be SOME benefit for it to be AS. Autism gives a WIDE range of symptoms, and requires no real benefit. AS has a floor, and does. So although AS is autism, autism is not necessarily AS. And I apo...

people say aspergers is a disability. i know we have problems, but i see it as more of a gift than a curse. the good outweighs the bad and if there was a cure for autism, a big red button infront of me, i would'nt press it. if i did, the kris here would cease to be. Why do people keep making these ...

I didn't like my elementary and later secondary school too much. I hated spending time with kids who, let's be sincere, in many cases were simply stupid. Literally. I will never forget a girl who asked by our biology teacher didn't know the answer for a question whether a human being is a mammal or...

The 1:150 is apparently a FABRICATION! Some say that is 1:150 males(At a 4:1 male to female ratio, that would be 1:375! At a 2:1 male/female ratio, it would be 1:225!), and others say 1:150 PDD(which includes AS and NOS)! Either way, it is misleading at best. Steve Recently an autism expert told me...

I'm usually proud of being an aspie, but sometimes my sensory issues become so painful that I want to be NT. That's the only thing I hate from being autistic. YEP Sensory issues and social ignorance are my only real problems. I really have to wonder about those saying they have AS and want a cure. ...

What's CDD? I saw it when it aired here but turned it off after a few minutes, when the family complained about not taking vacations. Apparently, CDD is likely Childhood Disintegrative Disorder. Apparently MANY have been lying all this time, and Autism does ******NOT****** degenerate! I THOUGHT tha...

E: Also, just FYI and all that, personality isn't tied to ASD; otherwise we'd all be the same.... No, everyone here is as diverse as the people "out there". I think NTs are intrisecaly as diverse as we are, anyway they "play the same game" and look for the same, thus, they achive it, we dont. Danie...

Other then making a lot of generalizations it seems like an accurate description of how a lot of kids with AS act. Well, ***MY*** "ramblings" were ALWAYS in context! It was tangential at WORST! I ALSO never had a tantrum. Compared to most kids from ANY culture, country, class, etc... I was a nice k...

My new psychiatrist asked me this question when I saw him last week. I thought about it, but haven't really been able to come up with anything. He said he was thinking of increasing my antidepressant, probably because he thinks I don't like myself... I guess it's hard to figure out what I like abou...

What the heck! I am AB+ just like I was the LAST 3 or 4 polls! As I recall, my father is A+. That means my mother is AB or B(+ or -), and I am RH+/+ or RH -/+.

For some reason, I saw quite a bit of this one. There were two or three that DEFINATELY seemed ASPIE! One even looked PHYSICALLY like it with the sunken eyes. But the things that struck out at me were: 1. Always seemed like this. 2. Did it simply because they could, and it seemed easy, weren't inter...
