...When I needed more I think I just said "I need more pieces" and she gave me more. But I may have asked for more pieces by saying "can I have more pieces." I don't exactly recall. Hahahaha. Exactly, the evaluator implied they were looking for an outburst and nothing more. I fi...

I asked my assessor about a few points and was disappointed. I could see a lot more could be inferred from some of the interactions but they were looking for gross (big) responses and disregarding the subtle ones. That said, I "failed" the ADOS 2 --- I was a point below threshold for ASD. ...

Which is a cumulation of the glass entry and glass progress. Ok, those aren't real terms, but when I hit the ceiling, I could see how a lifetime of "glassiness" led to it. Love that meme. Gets me every time (initially my breath catches) even though I know the punch line (release).

I'm now 35 weeks along and my kid is as wiggly as ever! It hurts now, kid keeps punching my bladder and kicking my lungs. I'm really looking forward to being able to see those wiggles instead of feeling every single one. Almost there!! ! Congrats. Looks like you'll have a very active child. My wigg...

It may not surprise you that I treat my young children (ages 8 and 10) better than your parents treat you. I helped my kids open up bank accounts by age 6. They are already learning to manage their money (my eldest tends to save more; my youngest tends to spend more --- they are practicing to find a...

Now that you mention it, I recall that I have heard multiple times that around the 90s workplace progress stopped for women. When I consult Ms Google, I find current Times articles and the like about just that. Here's one link that doesn't have a pay wall... (I am not familiar with the source, but t...

The first decades it was so painful. The irregularity in length and flow were/are difficult for me. It significantly impacts my moods (good and bad there). Every woman in my family has hormone-triggered migraines.

An NT friend instructed me in how to use a tampon.

My therapist suggested I take an auditory processing evaluation. I definitely hear things "later". I notice that I often ask a person what they said just as I am hearing it. Sometimes I wonder if my thoughts are in the way of hearing, even when I am trying to pay attention to what a person...

...This is the old nature vs nurture question. I lean towered nature. I lean towards nurture. In my family: * the sensitive expressive gene went Dad - Daughter - Grandson * the sensitive inexpressive gene went Mom - Daughter (there is no son) - Granddaughter So we are mostly contrary to gender expe...

My mom also denied (gaslit me about) emotional and physical abuse. Crazy making. I hope you can get out and find the resources you need to survive and eventually thrive.

It sounds like you are a personality between that of myself (needy, sexual) and my BFF (solitaire, asexual). I've always had a partner to "care" for me. Kind of a Benny and Joon thing. My ASD BFF first dated in her mid 30s. In her 40s she found a long-term male partner. We remain friends d...

Mona, clarification: my response to this post (page 1). I merely meant it was a similar sentiment.

I'll plant the Association idea whenever and wherever I can. I have a FB friend who has influence as an educator and advocate.

A person is upset --- I see and feel that upset possibly more strongly than they do (high affective), but are they upset b/c of the loud noises and/or their partner who turned away and/or something that happened last year on this date or their broken garage door? Beats me (low cognitive). Maybe that...
