Um, after Googling various combinations of "autism", "inference" and "reading comprehension", I found some articles... Would anyone like to explain why educators deem "inference" as an important linguistic skill? If you fail to infer or infer wrongly, you will usually score badly for reading compre...

I find social situations tiring too, but it depends on the person/situation. One on one, in a relaxing atmosphere having conversations about my special interest is no problem for me. Any kind of small talk is hell though, and I can't do it for more than a few minutes. I generally try to avoid the si...

It seems so logical to me, The fact that they mention he lost to will to live after his son death in the same sentence indicates the two are related. Next we should assume how we would feel if we had a child who died, who would be grief stricken, next we can assume his grief was so grate he no long...

What was the correct NT answer? "Because he was sad"? But this has absolutely nothing to do with reading comprehension, this has to do with inference. Every other answer that was given also makes sense, from a reading-comprehension perspective. So why not accept every answer as being possibly correc...

Yes, they do stare at me. But maybe it's because I look at them a lot too, I like babies. I think babies/little children are even more open about staring than NT adults are, which is why it can be daunting for some I guess.

I have trouble with small talk. For some reason, I seem to get "jittery" and can't keep still, and my eye contact moves all around. Even though I am aware of these problems now, I can't seem to control them; it's like my body has a mind of its own. Also, if I am talking to people I don't know well, ...

I tend to justify myself when people give me advice or criticism (especially if they offer it without my asking). I think I tend to take these things more personally than many people do.

I can't say if I "love sleep" or if I "hate sleep", as when I'm asleep, I'm not conscious enough to feel anything.....it's just neutral. I do love waking up refreshed, and feeling like I slept well, but sadly, that rarely happens. I often have trouble getting to sleep at night- (I'm a natural "night...

I don't know if this will make you feel better, but I'm having similar problems. I don't own a home: I live in an apartment, but my rent is going up and I'm not going to be able to afford that. In addition, the jobs I have here- (I work freelance) are basically "drying up", while my bills are consta...

I go in phases with food, so I could answer this question differently another time. But at the moment, I'm obsessed with hazelnut butter, made with 100% organic hazelnut (I add a little salt). Kind of strange, huh? Even weirder, I just eat it with a spoon, like pudding; no bread, as I'm a celiac any...

First off, I agree with what you say about the emphasis on "the mainstream" in school; I had a huge problem with this myself, back in my school days. This was one of the things I did not like about it. Have you ever read any of the books by John Taylor Gatto? You may find them interesting. I can't k...

I was really interested in the penis between the ages 6 and 8. I used to grab the hampton of one of my cousins all the time until he said that he was going to tell my mum. That was the last time I ever did that. This is really hysterical, I like this story. At the moment, my special interest is eug...

I was usually bad at multiple choice tests, and much preferred essay tests, where I could explain myself- (and therefore got A´s). The only time I felt comfortable with multiple choice tests was when the questions were clearly worded, and about facts. Otherwise, it´s hard to know the "right" answer ...

I've been obsessed with AS since March 4th of this year. I always thought I had a boring life. Everybody has their own personal stories of major events that happen in their lifetime. Some people find out they're gay, or they're adopted, or their parents are evil sith lords. I guess having evil sith...
