Forum: Love and Dating   Topic: Are you confident about your physical appearance?

No, not particularly.. but more so than I have been, and working on it - both my physical appearance (via diet/exercise) as well as my perceptions of myself. Working on both at the same time complement one another and I'm increasingly more comfortable with my appearance, and in time hopefully much m...

Nope, doesn't freeze & I don't get a stop script prompt from it.. but I do get annoying popups suggesting I share the page w/ facebook etc. The forum does tend to crash the browser on my blackberry for being too large to load, though.

Forum: General Autism Discussion   Topic: Do you have trouble with proper hygiene?

Nope. I'm a bit OCD about hygiene, so I don't have that problem. However, during some of my worst depressive states I've gone a week w/o showering - but I'd never ever go out like that, and don't even really like it while just sitting home. But I can relate a bit. Then I'd shower and feel so refresh...

Interesting read. :) I'm not sure if the OP wrote it or just quoted it. :? Nonetheless, everything happens for a reason & the writer just has to roll with it and make the most of it. Who knows, there may be a time in their life, even just a moment, where having the ability to speak may be life s...

Forum: General Autism Discussion   Topic: Are people with autism just doomed to be lonely?

No. Period. I can be social when I want to, hang out with friends/family/others whatever, but I do enjoy my solitude - especially now vs. previously. The difference is that when I'm alone now, by choice vs. feeling I have to be, is that I don't feel lonely or long for anyone else - I simply enjoy my...

This reminds me of something my 92yo grandmother has said her mother used to say: "There's no such thing as lazy people; there's something wrong with them." ... she was someone who wasn't quick to judge people as lazy Assuming that's an exact quote and she meant exactly what she said, she was quick...

No, I was pointed in the right direction by someone who did recognize them. I wasn't able to recognize them because I didn't know what they were.. and you don't know what you don't know. So, unless someone happens to know, in detail, what the traits and symptoms and behaviours of Autism are I think ...

I'm impressed that relatively small females here are able to scare big men! Man I envy you that, it's gotta make you feel safer? Like at least they won't do anything to you? Actually it does work pretty well most of the time. Very few people mess with me if I put my 'hard stare' on. Doesn't make yo...

I can certainly say that a man who identifies himself with a video game character is probably not considered masculine by most women. . its just an avatar of my favorite fictional character, doesnt mean anything. better to have him than a 5-star pentagram on my page, which tells me you identify you...

I very very rarely ever pedal anywhere without wearing a helmet (and always have since I was a kid.), and when I ride off road I prefer wearing my full face helmet. Then again, we have real mountains here.. not just woods. Mountain biking is extremely popular here and pretty well everyone wears a he...

Went for a 10km run with a friend on an evening last week, then went for a ~15km run myself yesterday early eve.. took a few doobie time breaks (you know, to get that runner's high.) and to stretch w/ some roadside yoga. It wasn't fast, not by a long shot, as I still have a lot of work to do to impr...

It is your personal choice and you are entitled to it, as well as I have the right for an opinion that your views are distorted on the matter. Just as yours are based on your experiences. Absolutely everyone is going to have a personal bias about almost everything that stems from their experiences ...

No-one should have to live in a violent situation. Find an advice service in your area by phone or online and ask what help is available. You need a social worker or advocate to assist you in getting away from this. This is another possible option if you're unemployed or can't work. Even a meagre e...

So? What's up with the 'we got a badass'? Infantile. I'm not trying to challenge you, I am just stating a fact. And I think it's plain stupid to turn down someone for that reason. What if she is the most amazing person and partner and 6 months down the line she tells you she's a rape victim? Are yo...

Is it worth pursuing a separate ADHD diagnosis if I already have an ASD diagnosis? My wife agrees with me and thinks I might need medication. It's worth it if your doctor agrees and you're open to trying medication. Taking meds (Dexedrine IR 10mg 2x daily which I selected from the 16 drugs availabl...
