But what if this girl didn't have autism and now, that she is obviously doing so well - she says she does? . Actually there are plenty of autistic people far worse off than your son and worse than this girl who have also done quite well as adults. My father and brother were born with speech delays....

It's autism. It's not the end of the world. :) I am so confused about this: in some places I read that ASD-s are "devastating illnesses", yet in others that "it is not the end of the world". How come? Which one is true - because they can't both be. The only people who consider ASD a "devastating il...

My questions would be: do you think his is a clear case? If so, how badly is this thing likely to get as he enters elementary school? Thank you so much. Hi, I think your son sounds like a normal kid. Psychologists seem to have diagnose children with autism if they show any behavior out of the ordin...

There was a guy who had diareaha who got hit in the stomach with a dodgeball in gym class he fouled his shorts infront of everybody. After that they stuck him with the nickname shotgun and would make squishing sounds when he walked by or held their noses while laughing at him. The nickname stuck wi...

I lived in a cocoon where the thought I had AS never occurred to me, not even once. After my daughter was Dx with HFA I peeled away the layers like an onion and it revealed to me the fairly obvious fact that I had AS. For simplicity I'll list the stages I went through; 1. Daughter's DX 2. Checked my...

When I was in primary school I had to do a book review in front of the class. The children bullied me incessantly prior to the speech because I stuttered when I was nervous. Unfortunately I wet myself out of fear but I was made to finish the review with urine flowing down my legs. The teacher made m...

Hi Danny, Great to see your open-mindedness on this subject, Being that life as we know it evolved from simple cells/bacteria, would it not be possible alien life could have an infinite number of different 'starting points'? Variations in terrain, stimulus, biological structures, etc. Excellent poin...

Youre forgetting the "Nordics". Basically terrestrial type humans with idealized blue eyed blond scandanavian features.. No I classified the nordics as human hybrid with grays. My impression of reading the manifestation is they are a form of hybrid being that encompass gray anatomy (particularly th...

Around here, most of the kids with classic autism seem to end up doing occupational therapy. I had a negative experience with our OT. She charged us $800 and provided us flashcards to hang on our wall to help our daughter with structured daily routine. She told us if our daughter follows a structur...

One of the highest IQ scores recorded by MENSA was a chap working as a truck driver. Until he took the test he didn't even know he was smart. Apparently he still drives trucks for a living.

I'm not gay but I hung around a group of gay university students for 4 years (mostly because I was shy, intelligent and spoke with a British accent) and progressively noticed that none of the straight NTs would talk to me or make friends. The discrimination was quite blatant. On the one hand it amus...

To me, while she seems to have been under a lot of stress and unhinged, she was still completely aware she was killing. So its murder. This young boy has been deliberately deprived of his right to live by the people that should be protecting him.

Apologies again, I'm trying to break my forum 'shell'. I often read and think 'I'd like to get involved..' but acting on that doesn't come naturally, ha. No worries Danny, welcome aboard. Why are aliens generally humanoid? Why are they often involved in New Age ideas, being that they are human conc...

I started feeling really isolated so I started going to parties etc. Not to say I'm a party animal, I'm pretty much the guy sitting in the back of the room with a beer, taking everything in. I used to get myself fairly drunk so I didn't know what was happening in the latter half of the party. I gav...
