Sheldon's friends tolerate him to a degree that I'm not sure would happen in real life. He's incredibly condescending and superior, and insensitive, and is quite intolerant of anyone who is not like him or not as smart as him, which in his view is everyone. I find it very difficult to be actively n... |

Research has shown the balance bikes (bicycles without pedals) are better for children learning to ride a bicycle than training wheels. According to research, training wheels can slow down the learning of balancing a bicycle because children become too dependent on them. Balance bikes are better an... |

In Germany, they make balance bikes for grownups. Back in the 19th century adult sized balance bikes were relatively common. They probably do have some application, but the lack of gearing makes them sort of an odd choice. It would be kind of cool to have a series of rope tows around to pull them u... |

I don't think that's really enough. You have to also be doing things that are generous in some fashion, even if you're an insensitive clod at times. If it were just us not knowing any better, but doing insensitive things anyways, people would just avoid us completely. You need something in the order... |

The bigger issue is that there really isn't anybody to vote for that's going to reverse course. The Democrats are content to be permanently in second place and the component of the GOP that isn't onboard clearly losing. . In all honesty trump is still likely to win in 2024 as he's come from behind ... |

This is not a game. They're extremely dangerous and make me scared for my future. A future I have taken back for myself over the past several years after working through trauma. the same message was repeated in 2016 and 2020 yet in 2020 more Americans (75 million) chose to vote for trump again desp... |

My wife recently got a "new" car. It's a Ford from about 10 years back and it includes a bunch of driver aids to make driving more comfortable, and somewhat safer. I do wonder how many more autistic people will be able to drive with things like blind spot detection, and automatic emergenc... |

self-driving cars can't come soon enough for me. I'm not convinced they'll ever become viable on roads with human drivers. If they can't operate safely around human drivers they shouldn't be allowed on the road at all. I think the FSD (Full Self Driving) of Tesla is becoming extremely good. As good... |

I don't think that electing somebody that hasn't earned the nomination is going to garner us much respect outside the US. Especially when you look at her track record as AG of CA and the limited time she spent in the Senate. Yeah but the USA thought Trump would be a good president. And a decent pro... |

With it being this close, all it would take for Trump to win is for there to be a poor turnout of the sorts that she has in her coalition. We’ll have to see what happens. With it being so close, I think it’s absurd to say that it will probably go one way or the other. It’s currently looking up for ... |

Perhaps, but the Democrats are doing their best to see that he wins. I'm not sure how else you explain the primaries that were rigged to the extent that nobody in their right mind can claim that it was the will of the people that led to Kamala being the nominee. According to polls, it’s very close. ... |

I could be wrong here, but my impression was that the really high pattern recognition abilities tend to go more with classic autism, perhaps as a kind of alternative developmental pathway of the brain away from language learning. That's the stereotype, but you also see that sort of thing pop up whe... |
