Zinc isn't a vitamin; it's a mineral. You can have blood tests done to determine if you're low on it. Taking it when you don't need it can make you ill, although most people can handle a supplement at low doses. A zinc supplement once a week should be enough for just about anyone. As you say, too m...

This morning, I had a dream in which I was sitting at a restaurant and noticed that I had maggots all over both elbows. Upon closer look at my elbows, both were raw with lots of tissue damage. I brushed the maggots off, but couldn't get them all. As I was leaving, I looked down and saw that I was le...

I've been taking 5,000 IU of Vitamin D a day for years. When I got covid in early May 2020, it was quite mild in spite of having a couple of comorbidities. I never even saw a doctor when I had it. By the way, regarding Vitamin D and Autism, there is a conjecture that low levels of Vitamin D while ca...

I have many acquaintances, but few friends. In a small country community like I live in, it would be impossible to not know everyone.

I've been rather ill the last few days and spending a lot of time in bed. Consequently, I've had lots of dreams. Two of them are related and stand out. In the first dream, I'm in a town with a major college and many young people. Running underneath the town is an interconnected series of tunnels, st...

I may have had it twice. I had pretty much the same symptoms with the same severity as when I had it six months earlier. The only real difference was that the first time, I had some disruption in my sense of smell for about six hours. At the doctor's office, a nurse practitioner told me that I shoul...

We had a slightly smaller than usual gathering ranging in ages from about six months to in the 90's. Nobody from one part of the family was there at all. One of my nephews is very persona non grata after abandoning his family to take up with some crazy woman who he married. None of his kids were the...

Mine was fine. We often have one or more non-family members at the celebration. A couple of years ago, one of our guests was one of the Lost Boys from Sudan. His manners were very impressive. One time we had several college baseball players from New York City. I don't think they had ever, in their l...

My favorite "character" in the whole series was Bessie. They should bring Bessie Back.

Clara and Bessie would have been a really good pair.

Our altar calls are more subdued -- mostly announcements of anniversaries, birthdays, and travel plans -- rarely is there ever any emotional display, and I have never seen anyone "slain in the spirit" there. That wouldn't be so bad, then. Meh ... I can live through it. I'm not big on hand...

The music. Always the music. When I was in high school, the church youth would go caroling two or three times a year and quite a few adults would join in. Each time, we'd go to the home of members of the congregation and sing three or four songs for them. Two or three of the houses each time would a...

Which god? Which religion? Which scriptures? American Lutheran Church No more altar calls. If I'm at any kind of service and they have an altar call, I immediately get up and leave. By the way, I thought about starting to go to a Cowboy Church until I saw a video of a Sunday service from one. The e...
