Cattle egrets are rampant where I live. They are less lovely than the snowy egret with their fancy breeding plumage and yellow feet. The great egret is the 4 ft tall one we have here. There is also a reddish egret, rarer, more on the salt water flats.

I get it. In my work I used to visit people in rough parts of town, around homeless shelters, cement block rentals that were cold water only.

I valued that experience of other lives.

That is very weird, that the “prolonged” grief starts at a year. Having worked as a hospice nurse for many years, we know the first anniversary of a loss typically brings on a new, sharp grief experience.

I cannot identify people’s voices hardly ever. Certainly not on the phone.

There is a large zoom meeting I’ve attended daily for two years. I’ve just noticed that I now can recognize many of the voices. (I’m often not looking at the screen.)

That is a first.
