Quite likely.
I've heard of something called "pure OCD" which I believe meant you have OCD type thoughts but don't act in them (?maybe?) - that sounds a lot like the sort of rumination we get with autism.
I think OCD might be another neurodivergence, anyway.

I think I know what you mean.
It's not exactly wanting to die but more just not having the energy and resources to keep on living?
I hope things improve for you.

Wasn't sure where to put this post, figured it might go under health... So I got this Apollo Neuro - it was crazy expensive (nearly AU$500 including postage from US) but I was at my wits end how to keep my nervous system regulated enough to stay in my job. It's a kind of investment. If you haven't s...

I am interested in whether there is a type of anxiety or stress condition particular to autistics, and its relationship to autistic burnout. This is from my own experiences with anxiety and stress issues which don't quite meet the usual diagnostic criteria. Instead my stress/anxiety issues seem to c...

Some like me are glad to find out what is 'wrong' with us - but even so, it is a lot to deal with. Once you realise, there's so much to review and unpack with all the ways it has affected one's life. He may need emotional or mental health support, for instance to talk with a psychologist. Even if he...

I get episodes of nervous system arousal (not sure if its from autism or anxiety or PTSD)
It tends to be worst around lunchtime.
Can make it hard to eat, sometimes.

Nope, they didn't do ADOS with me, I only had an interview kind of thing (ADI-R?) and then a questionnaire (something like RAADS-R?) (just 2 sessions of about an hour and a half each). I had the impression they were more designed for Aspergers diagnosis than classic autism. The questionnaire had me ...

I don't think it is fair to target Jill Escher in this way, and somewhat nonsensical, as from my understanding her children are clearly autistic. It seems likely to me that there are children with intellectual disabilities being misdiagnosed with autism, and indeed studies have indicated statistical...

I don't think I've accomplished anything that could be deemed impressive :( But I'm persistent, so I still might. In the words of Jessie J: "I still fall on my face sometimes and I can't colour inside the lines coz I'm perfectly incomplete, I'm still working on my masterpiece. I'm going to hang...

I feel the same, and it's so weird. Like, I have an advanced degree and work in a professional role as an engineer, so it's not like I lack brainpower. But socially and emotionally I'm just a child, partly it comes out in the way I act (when I'm not pretending to be a normal human adult), but mostly...

Thank you, Isabella
(As it was quite long I only just got around to listening all through)
I hadn't heard about that use of sounds to calm the nervous system before.

That's my thought also.

But I feel concerned for the girl, because any guy who encourages her to run away and let her mother worry like that does not have her best interests at heart and is likely a narcissist or abuser, or both.

Yes, I'm interested to find out how to stimulate vagus nerve.
I tried sort of meditating and humming but I don't really know what I'm doing.
