I agree. Let her like you first (not mine). As to adopting what I said in your signature.....as long as you realize I was trying to be politically correct and funny at the same time. That's fine.

Yeah, I would definately seek help, either counselling and/or meds. And tell your GF how bad you feel, how much she means to you, and that you want to help yourself. That way you're addressing the problem, and trying to fix it, and also being honest. But when you talk to her, make sure you don't so...

Sounds like you may need some ativan and some other good meds. I don't think there is much you can do. You probably scare her when you get all violent and she probably feels you may hit her, which there is no reason why she shouldn't have this fear. I guess you could try to explain to her why you g...

No one can meet real people playing video games. Go to a coffee shop, buy a cup of coffee, and start talking to someone. You might get a lot of weird looks, and a lot of turn downs, but it's a start. That's how you meet people. Go to church group functions. You don't have to be the life of the party...

Don't know what the official temp was but it was 10 degrees here in New Jersey for most of the morning. Right now 8:30, I think it's 15.

There is no cure for Autism, because it's not a disease. I've been AS all my life. I've also never had trouble making a living, and shagdaddy said, a pretty good one. The so-called "Autism Speaks" is a nut group. They're about money. Ask Kitsy or Anna54 if you want someone to go off on "Autism Speak...

The diagnosis doesn't make any difference. As a friend of mine with AS once told me, "I think my parents did the right thing with me, because they always saw me first as Judy, and then as the diagnosis, and if I were to say anything to the rest of the world about handling kids, I'd say relate to the...

I wrote her an e-mail. She didn't answer. I'm not that worried, but I hope she's okay. She was in the process of getting thrown out of her house, so maybe she just hasn't found a place ot plug in her computer yet. I sure hope it's not more serious. One thing about a board like this, with members all...

What's up?

Most states have a department of social services. You're an aspie. You qualify to talk to them. They have an obligation to make you aware of the options you have. No. Not all older Aspies have to go to an institution. Relax. Check with your state. If you don't live in the United States, and your cou...

Disturbing the Peace is a misdemeanor. A fine. Contempt of court is a felony (and right now, you're only charged with a misdemeanor). See if you can get a public defender or a handicapped advocate, or someone from legal aid to go with you. Whatever you do, remember, it's not a trial (unless all the...

They won't read them. They're too busy. Look at their web site, and if they're going to do a show, then send them a response from the "be on the show" topic right on the web site. They will read that. But you need an angle, so think about it. Maybe write to Alex on this board first, and see what his...

Pick up a copy of "The Illusionist." Also of "Proof." You and your friend will enjoy it. One is a good story, the other "Proof" is a good lesson.

Once you betray anyone, you don't deserve their trust. That's not an Aspi thing. That's an everyone thing, and anyone who puts up with a real betrayal is kind of a fool. Sorry. I'm an Aspi, but I've listened to a lot of NTs who say the same thing. Just because you're on the spectrum, doesn't mean yo...
