Birth family: Mother- it's hard to say how close we were. She could do kind things. However she regularly told me I was an awkward baby/toddler/child/teenager etc. She also told me I'd never be as good as my father. That was despite them arguing a lot. My father - Was OK when I was very young. By th...

I will grab a handy piece of scratch paper to write down a fact or a stat I just learned from TV or a book or the computer on Utube. But it doesnt interfere with my life. How pervasive is this habit of yours? Does it interfere with your life in some way? It neither worsens or improves my life in te...

You'll probably think I am/this is silly and stupid , but here goes. For as long as I can remember I have had this tendency to write lots of snippets of information in notebooks,or on things like envelopes etc. Currently it's very much genealogy based. There is no organised structure to it.Without d...

I've had a few people suggest that I might have ADD.

You come across as a much younger version of me. I have ASD(Asperger's),schizoaffective/schizophrenia, social anxiety, very probable dyspraxia, impaired executive functioning, and bullying related trauma. That goes with several physical issues- Barrett's oesophagus, atrial fibrillation, premature osteo...

Unlike the vast majority on this thread I wasn't an academic high achiever. No skipping grades for me. I was hampered by major deficits in EF that resulted in a significant gap between the quality of my thoughts and what appeared on paper. This is a 'Do what I say, not what I do' comment for the OP....

I'm absolutely awful at prioritising what needs to be done in a multistep task. My focus varies to some extent by how much something interests me.I don't believe anyone really believes me when I say it's easier for me to score quite high on a high range IQ test, than it is for me to keep my flat spi...

It’s always been a primary reason why, along with bullying related trauma, I haven’t pursued further education since an abortive attempt at an A level nearly 50 years ago. I can feel so worthless,no good, and stupid, because of it. Some days I get overwhelmed by how busy my mind is. It's like being ...

I'm not heavily into USA politics but I see it as a choice between wanting a country that's civilised, forward thinking , and progressive vs an uncivilised, and backward yearning, country under Trump. I hope that voters opt for a civilised USA.

I don't think you're a bad person. There should be zero tolerance of bullying . Make it financially punitive to bully others.

^ ^^ Thank you both. I think my anxiety is fuelled by memory of a previous single tooth extraction . I developed dry rot. It was the worst pain I've ever had. It was even worse than the 7 weeks I had with a broken femur. I did ask about having gas, but was told it would make things more complicated,...

My father described himself as a progressive conservative. My mother I think voted for the old Liberal party in the UK. She became more and more right wing as she got older. My political affiliation was shaped by my experiences with semi elite types at what was at the time a middle ranking public sc...
