A great article about how to choose a life partner http://waitbutwhy.com/2014/02/pick-life-partner.html Highlights: → Society rushes us. In our world, the major rule is to get married before you’re too old—and “too old” varies from 25 – 35, depending on where you live. The rule should be “what...

I just wrote that no, the world isn't cruel, it's mostly indifferent, but then I looked up the definition of cruelty and it says 'Cruelty is indifference to suffering, and even pleasure in inflicting it.' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cruelty Up till now I aalways assumed cruelty is was inflicting su...

I am going to try and explain because I don't know you and would like to give you a benefit of the doubt: You can't go into forums outside the autistic community and expect not to be bullied when you don't conform. They weren't even being cruel, they were probably embarrassed on your behalf for maki...

Like many others, I have my own OCD system for dealing with worn clothes Underwear and t-shirts and socks (anything that touches body skin directly): wear clean daily then in the dirty clothes bin once off Most of the tops fall under the above category except winter jumpers which are worn over 2 lay...

^ speaking of inappropriate age gaps, my first kiss was with a boy called Bobby. He was 16 and was going out with this gorgeous girl called Fanny who was 17. We were at a summer camp and I knew he liked me and I liked him so I decided I'd let him kiss me. I was 13. He broke up with Fran to go out wi...

I don't normally find pick-up lines all that funny, but some of these are so bad, they're actually good! :D ... at least if you're enough of a computer geek to get them. http://programmerryangosling.tumblr.com/ While I'm one of those RG = Meh types, I really liked the one Hey Girl, i wish you'd che...

personally, I never feel safe to be myself around other people. Ya'll are generally self serving bunch and my own needs and safety always come second or third to whatever anyone's personal agenda may be.

Feeling safe is a luxury I've never experienced.

I am glad you brought this up because the practice of sparing other people's feelings is the cruelest practice I know. It's an excuse not to stand up for what you belive, an excuse not to tell the truth and and excuse not to help someone else out of a bad spot. I know I am dealing with a truly good ...

I happen to have two bosses, one male and one female. I refer to both of them with gender neutral term: control-freak. They both equally fret about being seen as micro managers. Discrimination is never ok but it sometimes gets used in place of discernment and things get confused way too much as a re...

There are one are two members, who individually seem to like to pick on new members while having something resembling a "good ol' boy" relationship with a few other members who will back them up on occasion. People may like to imagine all sorts of things it doesn't mean it's true. For example, just...

You are speaking about hierarchies and pecking order, which I am aware of very much in animal and NT human societies, but here, with a bunch of people on ASD spectrum and other neuro diverse orientations, it seems far fetched. I am usually very good at spotting when people are ganging up, but I real...

I have to say I sometimes feel like the most autistic person around here. Specially when people start talking about cliques and in groups and targeted bullying. Who are these cliques and in groups, is there a list somewhere because I've never managed to figure it out even though I see it mentioned e...

My Chinese doctor said whatever I have is very serious. I am hoping she is only saying that to get money out of me for repeat visits and not because it is true, although it feels like it is true. The cat needs an asthma inhaler that costs £130 my broken tooth needs a crown that costs £530 weekly vis...
