If you're that close to moving out, wait and do so. But plan carefully and be sure you've got a job first. That way you won't have to move back in.

Life is rough. Money helps a lot.

luck.

I'm all for stopping all the shots they give to kids.
Let's bring back:
Polio
Whooping cough
Scarlet Fever
Small Pox

All those wonderful diseases from the good old days. Let the general population enjoy words they have never heard before like Iron Lung.

I love reactive people.

The only way you get people to listen is by being in their face. Sad, but true.

Sorry, I'm beginning to lose faith in the "nice way of saying things."

Actually, it isn't Skinner who was the problem. Most Behavior mod programs seem to model their therapies on Pavlov. Look it up.

And then, sometimes, what appears to be spinning, is not. It is simply a different way of thinking about things. Nothing wrong with that.

If they were ALL autistic, no problem. If I had to run a mix with NT's I wouldn't do it. I'll tell you, though. It would be interesting!

Why don't you contact Anna54. She's upset about some very similar things. Seems that she might be a good one to join a fight like this.

Excuse me, but House is a fictional character, and one that is not too well drawn. I know what the publicity people say, but I, for one, wouldn't class him as someone with Aspergers or Autisim. He's just a disagreeable person.

I've met plenty of those.

I consider myself moderate-functioning Asperger's, because the severities of my respective symptoms vary so widely. For instance, I have no problem with abstract thinking or emotional self-awareness, moderate problems with rigidity, casual relationships, and fluid speech, and ungodly problems with ...

Asperger's Syndrome doesn't make people smart. It makes them maniacally obsessed with one area of knowledge. Actually, all the Asperger's people I met academically are really really full of themselves, and packed full of the driest, most pedantic thought. They know a lot of facts from obsessively r...

Unfortunately, "unwritten rules," is just an expression. As other people have pointed out, there is a whole body of "social comprehension" that most children pick up in early childhood. Each person interprets those comprehensions in their own way. Example. (one girl to another) "If you kiss my boyfr...

You, yourself just announced that to about 18000 people. If you think Autism Speaks doesn't watch this board, you're kidding yourself. There are far more effective ways to do this. You might contact Alex if you're really interested in working on this.

Does anybody else here think their kids teachers are morons? I feel like she just doesn't "get it". This is the email his teacher sent me today. She actually sent a note a few weeks ago saying he "chose" not to pay attention. She's been sending a note for the past week requesting he turn in this fo...

I went to a drugstore today to pick something up for me, and ahead of me in line was a 12 year old who was buying a whole package of "energy" drinks. That ought to really put her on the ceiling. Sometimes, a lie is not so much a lie as a childs idea of what the world ought to be. I don't mean, "Did you steal that?" "no" But imaginary friends, imaginary situations, things like that. Might be a lie, might be a sense of the dramatic. Also, when you ask, "Who hit who first." you might be surpri...
