Common interests. Common memories. That the crux of it, really, for friendship.

Hi Screen Name, how are you? LOL...I was bothered when Mr Rogers used to take off his shoes; I sensed the smell of the room. Seriously, Mr Rogers was all right--but I was more influenced by the World of Make-Believe. I especially liked the spinning museum with that old lady who ran it (who I later f...

In Cyberdad's conception, I believe an "empty mind" is the result purging, a "cleaning up," if I'm interpreting correctly. That makes sense. Then there is Rousseau's conception of "emptiness of mind" at birth, a fully Nurture-type concept. In a pure sense, according to how I would interpret Rousseau...

You must be in far-Northern Minnesota or Michigan, or somewhere else North Central You're a nice person; I hope you're not affected by flooding. Around April 11th, here in New York City, the forsythias finally bloomed. They usually bloom around March 25 or so. Other trees and shrubs have followed su...

I was MORE nervous around people when I was younger. I did not have the coping skills I do now. I have learned to be able to tell if someone is tired of what I'm saying. Before, I didn't know what the heck to do in social situations, so I made mistakes, and became nervous afterwards. Now, with the k...

There was a commercial in the 80s and 90s for Nestea which depicted a person dropping head first into a swimming pool. He had taken the "Nestea Plunge." It's a metaphor, basically, for "just winging it," trying new things, "plunging" into the unknown. , for ad-libbing it. Equivalent, also, is plungi...

I could understand your discontent and your hurt. It's terrible that your parents have that attitude. What are you studying in college? I think the best thing to do is to just try to prove your parents wrong, and achieve success in life. I bet you can do it. :D If you dwell on the past. the past wil...

I always "struck out" in bars as well. I like girls of all ilks, races, creeds, ethnic groups, etc. I just like girls! I would not date under the age of 18, though--probably under the age of 25 as well.

I used to be scared of the night sky: the moon, the stars, the planets. I used to have nightmares about planets. I could not define the fear.

I also used to be scared of "institutional green," since it denoted a doctor's office.

Lipton's is all right; "natural" ice tea is rather yucky--strange, huh?

Do you know what the "Nestea Plunge" is?

You always take chances with eBay. If I want something that's intricate and fraught with potential problems, I'd go to an actual store. I could understand it if you got a good deal--there are many good deals on eBay. But there is more of a risk, since you didn't actually SEE the product.

LOL :P Right back atcha! Seriously: Of course I understand what you're saying. However, you do lots of great things. I'm sure the horses really love you! Here's a nice, hearty "neigh whinny"for you! I'm sorry you don't like the music during those events; I just drown it out, really. When I used to r...
