Honesty is a virtue, but empathy is also a virtue. Honesty can be used to hurt people. You can be honest without hurting people's feelings. All depends on the way and moment you choose "to be honest". I used to hurt people with my "honesty". Nowadays I am still honest but I use my honesty wisely and...

Why do you blame yourself? There are 2 parts in a relationship, and if he is the one who stopped communication I find it hard to believe it was you. I would say it was im. Maybe he was just playing with you or found someone else. Relationships are hard. Dont feel it is because you are an Aspie. Rela...

Your sister is at a very sensitive age. My daughter is 13, too. At this age they are not kids anymore but they are not grown up either, so they react strongly to anything that reminds them they are still children. I imagine your sister feels embarrased of the way you act. Just give her space and try...

I get shocking responses from my Aspie husband and child like all the time. Aspies are known for speaking their minds and not caring about social conventions, so I think it is kind of expected. When you post something you should not expect people will say what you want to hear: 1) because they do no...

I think you need to find someone to talk to do you can overcome the death of your friend. Your husband and son do not have to suffer for something that happened 10 years ago. My husband and I are agnostic. We do not belong to any religion, but we do celebrate Christmas. Why? Because it is important ...

Your daughter is not an expert. AS is not an illness, because it doesnt have a recognized cause. She is right when she says therapy can help you improve (improve, not "get over") your social interaction. It has helped my daughter. I do not know if it works with adults, but I do ot see why not. Maybe...

Tom Cruise is shorter than Katie Holmes. Ethan Hawke is shorter than Uma Thurman. Nicolas Sarkozy practically walks in the shadow of Carla Bruni. Janet Jackson is taller than Jermaine Dupree. Emmanuelle Seigner can see the top of Roman Polanski's head when they stand side by side. So, yeah. It happ...

According to Wikipeda the average is between 85 to 100%. I do not think there is something like an average for people with AS. There is a lot people with AS with high IQs, just not everybody.

People usually is just trying to make conversation, so do not elaborate that much. You can reply, for example: "I like different genres, like Metal, Rap, and Hip Hop", or "right now I am really into... (the kind of music you are listening to in that precise moment)". That should do.

If you want to give her something really special you need some insight. You may ask her best friend, her sister or her mother. Otherwise it would be hard because all girls are into different things. My daughter is 12 and she really is into nailpolish right now, so I am thinking about getting her a m...

It is a sensitive topic for me b/c my aunt and uncle are often criticized for not teaching my cousin skills he "should" have. They are judged very harshly by some other relatives. I think I see things that are not there sometimes. Sorry about it. I totally get you. I have been there. I have been to...

So I think it is wrong to criticize parents if their child is not performing well in some certain areas, and assume the parents have not been working on it. It is as bad as blaming the child in a way. Hi Lesley. I read my post again but I still do not see what you see. I was not trying to criticize...
