Networking, connections... or maybe more like the lack of them? I read an article about that stuff this morning from a news paper while in the library, and it got me thinking about those things again... For a long time, and honestly, somewhat even now, words like "networking" and "con...

In Tumblr, I follow this one user that tells jokes, all his posts are jokes. I found one that I had to read a couple of times and still didn't get it. I don't like it when I find something that I know is a joke but I can't understand it. Also, I just went to the store 'cause they had 40 % off on Eas...

Forum: General Autism Discussion   Topic: Do you think autistic people constantly need reminders?

Probably depends on the person. I can live my life just fine without getting reminders from others, but then again, I have pretty set routines, so that makes remembering stuff easier.

True. I don't care which time we'd stick with if we gave up one, but I want it done. It's not only about people, I've heard it's bad for cattle, too; when someone goes to milk the cows an hour earlier than usual, the cows are still sleepy and when it's hour later, they get cranky and confused that t...

But questions like "Have you eaten?" And "How was the exam?" That seemed to require some accurate answers made me angry. They didn't want to know the answers at all, and I had to stop what I was doing and answer the questions carefully.I don't know how NT can give a quick answer...

I think it's terribly rude to lie, which is something that NTs, and maybe autistics too, do all the time for the sake of politeness. Not that I would want someone to go out of their way to say something unpleasant to me, but I would rather someone be blunt than leave me guessing or leave me in the ...

I don't know. I've never used tiktok, so I don't know what kind of content it has about autism.

"If you always end up getting bullied, maybe you should think why that is the case." Does saying this to someone count as victim blaming? 'Cause I've been told that when telling about my experiences of getting bullied, and I recall the teachers back at school saying this kind of thing to ...

Starting at the same time every day probably won't be a problem on your field, at least if you're ready to start your day at the time that is the average in whichever place you'll be working in, which is usually at 8 or 9 a.m... I think. Getting overwork at the end of the day will probably be a bigg...

I don't think so? I mean, as a kid I liked looking at the snakes in a zoo (and mom hated it), but on the other hand, I won't go closer to a viper if I see one, but that's just healthy caution, isn't it? Not that there are lots of snakes around here to begin with; vipers are the only poisonous ones t...

I have a cold, so I can't go outside to watch the fireworks... I mean, if it was around -3 Celsius or something out there I'd probably go anyway, but -16 is a bit too much in my condition.

I was buying snow globes 'cause they were really cheap from the beginning and had 50 % off. Was planning to use them as Christmas gifts the next year. The weird part? For some reason I was in my night clothes and had my day clothes in a pile in my shopping basket next to the snow globes and other Ch...

Nope, never happens to me. As a teenager, I kept being told I was too vocal about my needs and in general, so as an adult, I've been working on toning it down. Of course, communicating my needs doesn't automatically mean that what I say gets understood, though I'm convinced that sometimes people jus...

Occasionally, though never in any official situations, like to doctors or other officials. I mostly lie to my mom... "no, I didn't go to the beach alone, had a friend along" "Yes, I have eaten" "Yes, I stayed with my sister during the trip and didn't go off on my own" e...
