3) Because we have someone to talk to when no one else will listen. You could talk to an invisible magic man in the sky, but unless you are schizophrenic or under the influence of some sort of hallucination inducing drug, the conversation will be one-sided. 4) Because "God did it" fills i...

I used to. I threw my "cutting kit" out. I was also recently diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder which puts me at a risk of suicide but I'm on medication. Suicidal ideation is not the worst part of having BPD. The worst part is mania. When I was 5 years old I didn't sleep for 5 days straight. ...

Einstein achieved greatness because of his superior intellect and his passion for a certain intellectual pursuit.

The fact that he flapped his hands is irrelevant.

if you wash your hands thoroughly, including under the nails, after any time you touch your nether regions, you should be good. NO! The pinworm is an intestinal parasite that comes out of the anus of its infected host at night to lay its eggs. Those eggs can survive up to three weeks, even after fa...

I have questions for you fellow Christians. What is a rational argument for the existence of God? If the Bible was a perfect book written by a perfect being how come it states that if a women is monogamous before she is married she must be stoned to death by the men of the city? If God is omnipotent...

Okay. If I constantly clean my hands will the eggs be killed so there won't be any eggs on my things to begin with.

I suppose I could have inhaled these eggs in they are airborne, which makes sense. The pinworms aren't really the problem. I took medication and I washed my underwear/bed sheets and disinfected my mattress. The problem is the fact I am extremely concerned about these eggs getting on my items, more s...

How about consulting a real doctor, instead of a bunch of random strangers on a social website? Really, that's what you need to do. ... and maybe boil your bedsheets, your clothing, your underwear ... Not really random strangers, but I understand. My father is a doctor, but he often lies to me in o...

I realized I have obtained an intestinal parasite known as pinworms. I am mysophobic so immediately I started to research these parasites. It seems like me getting pinworms is a virtual impossibility. I am stringent about not bacteria and contamination. I regularly sanitize my desks using antibacter...

This is a thread for jokes about mathematics.

Although I'm not sure if this qualifies as a mathematics joke here is my own take on a well-known classic joke.

Q: Why was six afraid of seven?
A: Because seven is a registered six offender.

As opposed to the classic "because 7 ate 9".

Phenomena portraying absolute series strikes me as the computational singularity, anything can be in-vivo vivisected to Planck depth provided the scientists with the funding manage to stay there rather than using all that same equipment for cryptographic brute-force exploits. Are we examining the s...

According to theoretical physics the smallest finite length is the Plank length which is approximately 1.616199x10^(-35) metres. That is the smallest finite distance possible, according to theoretical physics. Let 0 be the starting line and 1 be the finish line. Let, s_n=1+1/2+(1/2)^2+...+(1/2)^n Th...

It's not that hard. Just apply the rules of logic. No fallacies, no authority to fear, no loser to punch when you feel like it, no vagueness---much easier than talking to people. Yea. This is one things I like about math. The rules are all very definite. There are no absurdities or weird exceptions...

I have no way of knowing That is not why I am an atheist. Atheism is the belief ...
