I know it's often been said that Aspies lack the nonverbal fluency to tell if someone is being subtly hostile with them (like, micro-aggressions, veiled insults, petty put-downs or faint praise, etc.) which can get us into some unpleasant or embarrassing situations...but what about the reverse?? Ha... |

I am engaged in a self organized housing project over a long time and over the years I more and more learned, that there are many people in the spectrum, who emotionally prefer to talk by mouth with the people they live with in a house, often such ones too, that say in forums, that they like to wri... |

I only ever cry during autistic meltdowns. otherwise the most that's ever happened is a tear or two and that's only in very deep sadness. I wish i did cry because you always feel better after crying. |

This is continuing on from the "going out in public" thread, but I didn't want to derail the thread so I thought it was best if I made my own thread on this subject. Strangers are more judgemental. You can't do anything in public without people looking at you and judging. Just today I was... |

Nitpicking, like I could point out that Aspergers is no longer considered a diagnosis, it is now called Autism level 1. It is different for different people, but I am really good at proof reading, at the expence of me not being able to skim through texts, and being a slow reader. /Mats I could poin... |

Being an aspie in itself forces you to be more intelligent you have to figure out how to get past problems presented to you by the condition and that helps build your intelligence. |

How is it for you guys? If I go to stores or anywhere else where I see others for the first time, I do “okay”. If it’s somewhere where I’m expected to be really social and build relationships and act normal and the like such as the workplace, my daughter’s daycare with her staff, or anywhere else, ... |
