As far as her gait is concerned. I at first thought that it was 'low self esteem'...or insecurity, she walks very straight, rigid, does not swing her arms, hips, or anything when she walks, and, she walks toe-heel. I've really tried to break this habit...with no success. Maybe it's a compulsion, bu... |

she does have an unusual 'gait' and walks very 'rigid' What does your pediatrician say abou the gait? I'm not minimizing anything, but sometimes the gait is a sign of one of several other things, and has nothing to do with Asperger's or any other behavioral disorder....which is not to say that she ... |

I am new to this Site. My daughter is 11 and her Aunt has brought Asperger Syndrome to my attention as a possible answer to some of the questions we've had about my daughter.... alot of the symptoms seem to fit. Dear Dad: First, you need professional advice. A psychiatrist. On the good side, if you... |

I think, if you go back and read the AP coverage (the article I'm thinking of comes up in a search), you'll see that he had been taking a lot of what people were dishing out for years. The AP didn't follow that one up, but maybe 60 minutes or 48 hours will. And though I can't imagine taking a gun ou... |

I have known a girl since beginning of the 8th grade...which is just over 2 years now, and I would like to know how to go about finding out if she is into me...how can you tell? WE have been keeping in communication through phone and e-mail so far. Walk up to her, turn on your best smile, and say "... |

The mental capacity that it takes to recognize that it is wrong to torture animals is not superior. It is barely enough to make one a real human being. A real-world working definition of a "bully" is someone who tortures another person, then gets them in trouble for fighting back. The person who he... |

With recent topics of discussion, I'm beginning to think that WP is directed towards adults. I do not understand most of the issues discussed, and I was "sheltered" from bad words and grown-up issues until I joined. I myself am one of WrongPlanets youngest active members, and I feel out of place he... |

One that extends a lot further back, to people justifying the unjustifyable in cruelty to handicapped people, cruelty to anyone who is different, cruelty to anything they don't understand.

In my humble opinion, there was something else going on with that poor man. That will come out in the weeks to come. However, it served to publicize a site that is the first place I've seen where I can read posts and listen to people who have the same problems my son does, and know that we are not a... |

I find that when I'm looking at someone, I miss half of what they say. When I'm staring out the window or looking blank, I hear and remember every word, sometimes for years. Everyone thinks I'm very laid back. Wrong. I just don't do it in "three acts." I have tried to explain to family and friends t... |

That might sound like a stupid question, but there are all kinds of things that can cause behavior problems.....not all of them behavior disorders. It takes a psychiatrist and a blood test to rule out some things. I'm not trying to give you false hope. My own kid has Asperger's and he's a super-trou... |

I don't care where you live, there are laws against what I hear you saying in your post (not against what you're trying to do, what they're trying to do). I don't think I can post a book on this site, so I won't, but do a google search on Erika Hammerschmidt. She's got a couple of chapters on what t... |

Jobo: Ever fight with a cat. You get clawed. Boot camp is the ultimate rejection. It is throwing in the towel. As downright angry as I get at my kid, I don't think I'd send him off somewhere. As one of my friends said, "My parents did that to my brother, and I don't think he's ever forgiven them." T... |
