I never consciously thought of using it for fun, but depending on your definition of fun I might have found that in using it. I gather some psychologists reckon that being challenged to think and to learn something new is a core feature of fun, in which case I've had fun with ChatGPT. I've asked it ... |

In my case the theory seems to fit the observable facts. By most criteria I'm in good shape for my age, and I drink more tea than anybody else I know, because I like the stuff. It's almost like a stim. But frankly I doubt that it makes a great deal of difference. It might help a little bit, but I ex... |

I'd have politely refused to have anything to do with it. I'd probably have survived the experience but I would have hated it. These "lively" things always seem to me like they might go a step too far. I'm tempted to sit in judgement and call them a bunch of bad names for being so loopy an... |

I usually have trouble keeping up with rapid talking, because I'm a slow, careful thinker, but I only feel stressed about it if I think it's urgent to follow what they're saying. And I can't follow lectures even at the normal speed, it's much better if it's interactive, i.e. a conversation, which I ... |

I've never used it and don't even know where to find it, though I'm sure I could google it. This was working for me when I tried it just now: https://chatgpt.com/ A week or two ago it was trying to force me to create an account before it would do anything for me, and I didn't comply, but today it j... |

I never quite did realise that. More a case of 2 groups, one that likes me, one that doesn't. The first group may be small and can shrink. I dismissed the second group as jerks, but these days I try to think of them as just different. |

I used to dislike the way I looked, but never quite lost hope that I was wrong. As I got into my 20s I got a bit more confidence and I started to think I looked better. After that I stopped worrying about it much, and figured that life was more about what I did than what I looked like. Of course age... |

I've got routines but I don't usually perform them at set times unless they involve catching public transport or time-critical appointments. And a given procedure of mine isn't identical every time, just very similar. |

There are similar sentiments in the UK about immigration. Probably some truth in the idea that it's mostly about importing cheap labour. A cynic might say that the ruling class wants the indigenous population to hate immigrants, for divide-and-rule. Certainly they do little about preparing people fo... |

I have trouble coming to terms with losing almost anything or anybody. Apart from hoping time will do some good, which it usually does, I don't really have any strategies, except trying not to dwell on negative thoughts too much. I don't think this closure thing people talk of always exists. Sometim... |

^ Yes that's pretty much what I've read. There are some interesting criticisms of the method on the page you linked to. Apparently some research suggests there's no benefit to increasing intervals, that the absolute spacing was the only thing that had any effect. |

I've tried Anki on & off for over a decade, but I always go back to physical handmade flashcards & posters. I've found that even making the cards can be enough to cement something, especially if it takes multiple tries to make a good card (accurate, legible, etc). And I think the digital br... |

Just make sure you read this https://faqs.ankiweb.net/anki-knockoffs.html Thanks. The program I'm using isn't called AnkiApp or Anki Pro, just plain Anki, and I've seen no particular evidence of it being a fake. The version number certainly exists in the collection on uptodown.com: https://anki.en.... |

^ Thanks for the info :-) I'm using version 2.1.35. It offers me an update every time I open it, but judging by Zhighley's web pages the basic way it works is still much the same. I should try updating it just to see. I strongly suspect my concerns are mainly down to three factors: 1. The default ti... |

My son used it heavily to pass senior (4th year) biology classes in college. I don’t think he could have gotten his degree without it. I talked to my niece who was in medical school and she said she didn’t use it but a lot of her fellow medical students did. Good to know I'm not the only one using ... |
