I got none at all. Elementary school was a living hell because of that. Unlike middle and high school, where you only had to do 50 minutes in a class, changed classed every hour and could pick the desk you got for that day. In elementary school, you where in class for up to 2 hours at a time and yo...

I wonder how many of us who think we are introverts are extroverts or at in the middle somewhere who because of social failures fear social interaction.

Privacy when it existed was benificial because people were less afraid to try things out and fail. This helped people learn about themselves and grow as people. Now failure runs the risk you eithier becoming and instant punch line or immediate public shaming.

It is reported the suspect has admitted to the crime. No motive known or released. Suspect has no prior record. He even picked up riders after the crime. One rider used Uber and that driver because of the shootings and jokingly asked him if he was the shooter which he denied.

No. They never gave anyone breaks in the 1970s. I just went away into myself and waited for it to be over. I never took a break or a day off. That continued into my work. I probably should have but I did not know any better. I wonder if this is a factor in all the health woes I have gone through th...

If an adult said that I would be suspicious that it was a left handed compliment. But that level of metaphor is probably beyond most 7 year olds so I will assume it was meant as a real compliment unless the tone of voice was sarcastic.

AsPartOfMe, I agree with your criticism of eugenics, though I don't think it's true that the American eugenics movement is forgotten. I took University of Minnesota professor Matt McGue's Coursera class in Human Behavioral Genetics and we read heavily about eugenics both in the US and abroad. It is...

Awareness helped me a lot because without I never have been diagnosed and know who I really am. But while it has been good for a subset of older adults I believe it has been bad overall because of the type of awareness and the continuing uncertainty and disagreement as to what Autism is. If the Awar...

The problem is unlike most conditions there is not one stereotype but several which are often opposite of each other 1. The "ret*d" person who bangs their head against the wall requires 24/7 care is a burden to thier family and society. 2. Rain Man. A basically ret*d person with a savant a...
