I've had 'chats', also known as 'informal interviews' - prepare like it's a formal interview (but don't worry too much about it) and it's generally correct to wear smart casual (not as formal as in a formal interview).

I don't care much for money, for me it's about being happy which defines how successful one is. So if I wanted to impress people I'd just aim to show that I have a happy life.

Cycling, though unfortunately my city is very bicycle unfriendly. Walking is good as well, I can walk pretty long distances if I want to.

Just an update on my situation, I talked to my mum today, mostly about the anxiety issue. The conversation seemed to go alright and I feel a bit better, and I think if we can continue communicating then it might not be so bad living at home and I might not need to rush the moving out as much. We sti...

If you don't have problems getting along with your parents, I would take them up on their offer. I would save every dime possible though and put it toward my own place. Since I didn't get along with my parents, and have been on my own since I was sixteen, I joined the navy and saved almost everythi...

Stay at home as long as you can. Home ownership has expenses that you would never think of. I just moved out for the first time last year I'm 26 btw I have already had to replace a sump pump and electrical wiring in my home. There is a tree that needs to be cut down which will cost 900 dollars. Sta...

Hi all, I'm 21, just finished university and got a full-time job so am thinking of moving out. Since I only started the job this week my plan is to wait until I'm sure the job is safe and the probationary period is up. But my parents say I should wait several more years so I can save money so I can ...

Hi redrobin62,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your job. I guess it's difficult for there to be accommodations when the nature of the job is already stressful. Have you looked into trying to change jobs?

It's subjective as it depends on the individual's traits. You are more likely to regard a trait as ideal in people if you have it yourself, or know someone that has it and you admire them for it. Personally my list of ideal traits are honesty, being caring, accepting, and positivity.

Atheist here. I try to respect other people who are religious, but sometimes find they try to make me 'convert'. Actually I'm not sure it's called 'trying to make me convert' as they some say they're not trying to, but they say things like 'having a religion makes you feel better and you'll suffer l...

Thanks for your response. I guess the fact it doesn't happen that often leads me to worry about this incident as I was surprised it happened. When I was younger and meltdowns were more common I didn't worry so much cause they were regular occurrences anyway. And I still do get into many situations t...

Wow quite a few bad experiences here. I hope I'll be fine with my next therapist (which I haven't got yet). I've had two myself - the latter of which actually specializes in ASDs and was brilliant - too bad I can't continue with her due to schedule problems. The first I only had for a few sessions a...

I raised my voice when trying to argue. We didn't argue that long - eventually I yelled out 'JUST SHUT UP'. I collapsed on the bed for a few seconds, then got up and kicked the luggage hard in frustration. PS - I double posted when making this thread and so deleted one of them, perhaps you tried to ...

I just had a meltdown for the first time in 2 years a couple of hours ago. I was trying to open a luggage with a combination lock, which wouldn't open even when I entered the correct code. I figured it must have changed by accident and tried every single combination (1000 of them in about 25 mins) w...

Tough one as I've never felt like I had any serious problems, but probably early secondary school (age 11-13) as I've had to adjust to a new school and environment and suffered a little bullying. I also remember not making many new friends then but at that time it didn't matter a lot to me. Whereas ...
