Yo, Dr. Phil. You ever hear of this new thing called outpatient therapy ? Because I'm pretty sure it's not a very new idea...you know, since it's been around for over a decade . Really, this man is one of the biggest idiots I've seen. This is pure attention-grabbing grandstanding. Most actual psycho...

Can I ask what the trauma was? Was it an injury? Mental trauma. My mom's parenting style works fairly well with Asperger's, since she treats children like humans. My 'dad's'...well, you know that school of thought that says you should hit kids as discipline? Apparently that was what he was aiming f...

Well, let's look at this scientifically. (Kind of. :p) We can assume that, in the Star Wars universe, 'laser' is common slang for 'plasma', like 'hacker' for 'cracker' IRL. Why? Because if laser guns and lightsabers used real lasers, they would never have an end, and would burn holes into things wit...

ZOMG, YES! I love PR! My absolute favorite season has to be Dino Thunder. There was just so much untapped potential in the Dino Rangers' personalities and plotlines. Next favorite is RPM, of course, because...well, it's RPM. :D Then Lightspeed, since I like the whole Earth-based Rangers thing, and t...

I'm not suicidal or depressed. When I was little I had no problems. But I had a severe trauma a few years ago. While I've healed from that, it unlocked something in my brain. At totally random times (like, say, when I'm cooking or writing), I'll suddenly start pressing my nails into my wrists or pre...

Try watching TV. No, seriously. Pick a really cheesy show with really over-dramatic acting so you can understand them. Then watch and enjoy. Neurologically, your brain can't tell that you're not hanging out with real people, so it'll provide the unconscious reinforcement you need. Also, hanging out ...

Yep.

Then I got traumatized and wound up with C-PTSD.

I now consider the world a minefield with camouflaged bear traps sitting atop it. Doesn't mean I don't want to help, but I'm much more realistic and careful about what I can do.

Eh, of course. I can't function without music.

But then again, it's MUSIC. So it's automatically awesome. :)

I have whole universes . It's awesome. Every TV show\movie\book is its own universe, and all I have to do is say magic words and I can jump into their world. I spend hours at night fighting bad guys with superheroes and stuff. It's actually the only way I can get to sleep. My favorites are the Dino ...

I go to an online school (with a real-world school building), so my school's mix is a bit different. But yeah, there's some SERIOUSLY dumb kids there. Best line ever, said to my mom (a teacher there): "I don't wanna study! I wanna go work!" "And do what?" "Anything!" "...Even hauling boxes." "Anythi...

You can't be serious. Writing is so biased and subjective. There are no absolutes, and it makes me go crazy. In mathematics, everything just makes sense; it's the only perfect universal truth. In writing, there are rules--LOTS of rules. Detailed rules. Rules for every last thing. What defines you a...

Wow. This hits the nail on the head fairly hard. Goddess, I hate having people flip out, especially my mom. I don't know why they're doing it, I never know when, and it's over the tiniest things. I've literally been in situations where I said almost exactly the same kind of thing the 'normal' kid in...

I'm terrified, myself. My graduation is in a week, but my classes are done now. I'm alternating between bouts of paranoia, nausea, and just plain ol' stress. I don't know why, and I'm not even sure there's a reason. Anyone have any advice? I'd ask my mom, she's pretty good with this stuff, but she a...

Hello. I'm new to this site. I don't have any friends, but I'm attractive and talented and sometimes people want to get to know me, but I don't know what to do and it frustrates me. Some of these people have asked if I have Asperger's syndrome. I looked up the symptoms and I fit ninety percent of t...

I haven't had an official diagnosis yet, but I have several signs of Asperger's, and consistently score above 35 on the AQ test. So I looked up Aspie sites, found this, and realized that, hey, whatever's going on, I sure have a lot in common with you guys! And I have to say that finding a site where...
