We have lots of hornets here. I don't mind hornets, they're not great at flying though which makes it seem like they're going to crash into you. Much less aggro than wasps. The european ones anyway. We had a hornets nest in our chimney last year which was a pita though. Every day 4 or 5 hornets woul...

I'm sure they're good games. I did try to play one, but as I say, it's not for me any more.

Perhaps if my mum told me i wasn't allowed to play it, then I'd be more interested. It worked with the first one.

You don't tend to see wasps much until later in the summer once their breeding cycle is over. That's when they turn into pests and start trying to lick our ice lollies because they haven't got anything else to do. They're actually just as valuable as bees when it comes to pollinating plants, they ju...

They're more at risk from pesticides than poor weather. Fortunately we're out of the EU now so we can use the really nasty ones.

Either way, if the bees are f****d, so are we.

I just meant that how I feel when I see a trailer for a modern doom game must be how those guys feel. Something from their youth that felt kind of counterculteral, cutting-edge and dangerous, slicked up and repackaged for the mainstream.

I'm old now and it's not for me any more. :skull:

There are a few. There are some linux-based OS for phones and some open source ones which are based on Android but without the google services. Of course they're all a pita to install and don't offer such a seamless ux as Android/iOS. I used to use LineageOS on my old phones/tablets when the manufac...

I was being serious!

I really want to hear about chris1989's zoo.

What animals did you want? So far we have chimps but that's not a zoo, that's just a tea party. What else?

Did you ever do maps of the layout?

No. I live in the UK. There are, I'd estimate, maybe 20 days per year where air con would be nice, and zero where its actually a necessity.

I do miss having it in my car though.

Do you put anything in/on your hair to style it?

But you did have a connection with it. You invested your time and energy into saving it. You gave it a name. Understanding, intellectually, that life is naturally limited and death is universal doesn't make it any easier to bear emotionally, when we witness it. Knowing that whatever it is that anima...

I'm won't pretend to be that familiar with Satre. I read Nausea and found a lot to identify with there. The sense of isolation. The sense of being just a point of observation. I tried to read The Age of Reason and found it so hard to follow that I actually thought I had a misprinted copy. Then I got...

I saw Furiosa. It was good fun. About 30 minutes too long imo but that's my opinion of most movies. Definitely a 'see at the cinema' movie.
