Mom 28 Dad 33 a few months after I was born Now... I think my dad is probably aspie although he's never been diagnosed. He doesn't display the sensory defensiveness that I do, but the mindblindness and lack of social skills (though not nearly to my extent) are there (the lack of empathy is, I think,...

A girl of 10 diagnosed herself with Asperger's Syndrome while reading a children's book on autism Sounds pretty aspie to better understand her brother's condition. :? Oh. So there was a motive. Well now I'm not sure. Then again. Brother. Genetic basis. Hm. Hmmmmmm....... Anyway, I also wish I could...

With some of the crazy spiders they have in Australia, they're worried about a brown recluse?

Although I have to say, you can't reverse necrotized flesh with antivenom, so I'd be pretty worried.

It would have been fine if my family went somewhere else, but they came to my parents' house where I live and the horrible thing about my family is that they don't know how to take turns in a conversation. They talk OVER each other so it's always just so incredibly loud (I still have a headache). Th...

So I guess what slowmutant is trying to get across is:

All we need to do is go to medical school, sleep in class, pass our classes, graduate at the bottom, and get our scrap of paper that gives us credibility. After that, we're essentially gods. Good to know.

Nobody fits the diagnostic checklist perfectly. I didn't have any language delays either and this whole mind-blindness thing... Reading some of the forum posts, its almost scary how well the people here understand humanity. It's just that maybe we don't apply what we know. It's like we have to obser...

I can't drive. Legally, I'm not allowed to because of the epilepsy, but I've always failed my driving tests (perfect scores on the written parts though). I misjudge distances and the amount of time I have to do something and just get overwhelmed. I'm kind of glad I'm epileptic so I have an excuse NO...

What exactly am I supposed to be reacting to? EDIT: Although I do have to admit that for some reason, it gets on my nerves to hear a kid referred to as "your little one." I have no idea why. It's just one of those things. It's kind of like when magazines refer to a baby as Baby like "And this is a f...

I don't know who reads this board, so I don't want to say.

And that's not the only reason I'm dropping out.

I'd say the performance IQ drags it way down.

At least it does for me.

IQ tests are pretty much garbage anyway, but that's just my opinion. I have no authority to say that.

But then again...

Who does?

Those were the numbers I got from the printout from the last test I took. The interesting thing is that even when I took IQ tests at eleven, from the school psychologists to get into the gifted and talented program (the IQ cutoff for that is 130, I've never heard of it being higher but maybe it is a...

A parenting issue? Where did those offensive bastards get their degrees in neuropsychology to be able to assess whether or not autism is there when they have proof from actual doctors?

Getting a lawyer is an appropriate step. Good luck with this.

Without the gap I'd be genius overall. Performance IQ: Can't remember. Somewhere in the 1teens. Verbal IQ: 151 Overall: 139 (above average, not genius) My visual spatial difficulties have been an incredible hindrance in my life. That class I dropped? Major contribution to my decision to drop out of ...

One time in school I was supposed to do a paper on an American writer, so I did it on Morrissey instead. (not American, though you could argue that he's a writer) I think it got an A. I don't remember. I got an A overall for the class, so it got at least a B. I think we're a lot alike, although I wo...

Another thing that frusterates me is when you tell them that you are experiencing certain side effects or drug interactions, and they tell you that it's not possible becasue it wasn't listed in the med info. This is why I love the internet. For a few years, I took lamictal for my epilepsy. Now, eve...
