Forum: General Autism Discussion   Topic: Why must sports commentators be employed to shout?

The sport commentators that annoy me are not the ones that shout but the ones that ramble on about things that is not relevant to what I am watching. If I am watching a sport event I want to hear what is actually going on not what the sports player was doing in there spare time etc.

On Tuesday I really had to fight with myself as if I was at a cross between either having a meltdown or getting extremely hyperactive. The cause of it was because through the whole weekend I was socialising. Yes I did enjoy the weekend but coming back home and winding down from that on Tuesday was h...

When it comes to some tasks I can be slow due to Gross Motor Functions but there are some things I can do a lot faster but that is due to being used to things.

With Autism there are advantages and disadvantages. Personally I would rather get rid of the disadvantages and keep the advantages.

Through the years for me this one has changed. When I was younger in my teens I would wear layers even on the hottest day. Now, I am more less the opposite I only wear layers in the winter especially when it is extremely cold. When summer comes it is shorts and t-shirt what started that off was when...

Could the increase be explained by improvements in picking up on those who are on the spectrum ? That's more, or less, what most folks on this six page thread have suggested. Up until roughly 2000, I would agree. And no, I am not contradicting myself, naturalplastic. The study of the phenomenon we ...

With me I had phases. One minute I would be clingy the next no.

At school I could get clingy with friends and want them to do what I wanted to do without thinking about how they would feel about it.

With parents I was clingy at home but outside of home no I wasn’t.

I have a very confusing diagnosis story. I always believed I was diagnosed circa 1996/97 when I was 10 year’s due to school recommendations. Which helped me into secondary school where there was an Autism/Asperger’s unit which even back then was a rare thing to have in a mainstream school. But recen...

I think it must be more on the Creative side. As a child I did the ‘let’s pretend thing’ sometimes I worked better with that on my own rather than people. If I am travelling someone I always try to visualise the journey whilst planning and even more so on the days leading up. When it comes to things...

I read in my Autism report from when I was 13 years old that I had ‘No Imagination.’ I don’t understand what they mean because I thought I did have an Imagination.

Something I haven't done in a while. But in situations where I have found myself doing team work or working in a team I end up finding it a bit of a struggle or get this feeling of being overwhelmed with what I am suppose to do and then completely switch off when being explained what we are doing as...

Sadly some do.

In my opinion it is a situation that does need to be addressed. I am sure that in the future things will be much better.

How are you not homeless? It is the case of living on welfare and getting help and having good money management skills. But also I still live at home. I would rather have a job and my own place but sadly this is life. As for homelessness most of the time that is by choice people do get help and the...
