I usually do not have a problem with impulse buying. Occasionally (like once or twice a year) I will do an impulse buy on something that I really want/need, within the $50 or less range. My aunt is quite the opposite, as she does this almost every time she shops. She is constantly trying to return t...

My main interest is in the hard sciences (chemistry/physics), since I spend on average 14+ hours a day either talking, teaching or working on those concepts. No, I never get tired of it as there is always something new to discover.

I can readily visualize up to 12-D in my mind, but that is because I understand point group symmetry relationships in matter and how that is applied over space dimensions. Each one has a particular functionality associated with it. Some are rotational, some are translational, etc. These functions c...

Everyone is making good points. If math falls short as a descriptive or explanatory tool, I submit it has as much to do with the persons fluency with the math as it does the math itself. Some people seem to have a deep immediate grasp of functions and other constructs. Math really speaks to them. I...

Actually, if you're a physicist, then the best way to know if you understand a topic is if you can explain it to laypeople without using any of the math. Indeed. Mathematics is a great descriptive tool, but it isn't necessarily capable of explaining things. To be honest, I sometimes feel that certa...

-People wore clogs in Denmark, kimonos in Japan, Sari's in India, you never see an American with a cowboy hat and a gun, walking around, showing off what America is all about. If he wanted to seem American, he'd just wear the same thing he always wore. In fact, you'd probably cringe if you saw some...

Yes, I collected so many things (and still do) that I had to restrict what I collect due to storage issues where they are kept. Some of it is in safety deposit boxes at different banks for obvious security purposes. Basically if it has monetary value, I probably have a collection of it hidden somewh...

No. It would be a very bad idea, as I occasionally develop things in my sleep that could be used for evil purposes. Nothing good could come from recording those ideas...

It's not that I am against it. It makes me insecure about my identity, do I have it or not? Many assumes I have it (for some reason not my previous teachers). Have I somehow developed into being identical, even though I might not be one? I'm not viewing it as a disease. I can't get a second opinion...

For being able to "see" relationships in science and technology fields that others do not. I have been called a "Dr. Frankenstein" of sorts by other scientists for my interest in in vivo biotechnology combined with material engineering at the molecular level. (Hint: think of the ...

I do not want to disturb the discussion, but a few points to consider: Here is a reference that lists measured pH ranges for apple, cranberry and grape juices that I thought may be useful here: http://healthyeating.sfgate.com/ph-levels-apple-orange-grape-cranberry-fruit-juices-12062.html The acidic ...

I'm high functioning. I have average intelligence. I got my drivers license when I was 17 which is actually a lot earlier than people with HFA. In high school there was only me and one other kid out of 17 people with Aspergers who drove to school. Even when older, a good percentage of 20 year old a...

Yes, I do rock on occasion while sitting on the floor. It mostly happens when I am severely stressed out at home. I first noticed it back when I was writing my dissertation, as I was having major problems with my research adviser at the time.

I will admit that I watch anime and cartoons (yes, even old ones that your parents/grandparents/great grandparents watched). It gives my mind a break for a while, especially when I am stressed out after mentally working on something for a long time. Cowboy Bebop is a good anime series, as well as FL...
