Sorry for the rant in advance, but I think it needs to be said: I have noticed that it seems that many of the incoming college students are so unprepared for the world we live in. What I mean is that they do not see the big picture of what college is for: to prepare you for your potential career out... |

My dreams are very different than other people's dreams. Most of the time, I solve problems in my sleep, whether I am dreaming or not. Guess being able to design molecular structures in my dreams, waking up and sketching them out to see what they could be used for would be quite strange to some. I h... |

Being a college professor, I can attest that there exist those who teach for the test only and not for student learning skills. That has been something that has always bothered me, even when I was in college many years ago. I equate it to the teacher shortchanging the student, as they overpaid for w... |

I am limited on what I can discuss on this topic (for research reasons), but I can give you something to ponder on. This molecule was designed back in 2005 at Rice University to determine how buckminsterfullerene move over flat metallic surfaces: http://www.edinformatics.com/nanotechnology/nanocar.h... |

The quantum in my user name has to do with one of my special interests: quantum physics of subatomic particles. While I cannot say what I currently do research on, I can give you one of the projects that I worked on in grad school,(but not the one I graduated with). I was attempting to develop mole... |

When I am in a social environment, I am the ultimate "wall flower". I will go out of my way to avoid conversations with strangers if I can. I really do not know what to say to them without going into areas that they will likely not understand (deep science topics are a favorite of mine). Many peopl... |

Thank you for welcoming me on here. I unfortunately have to keep my diagnosis to myself around my coworkers, as they simply would not be able to understand... As for graduating high school, I wanted to move on with my life, but was apprehensive about the change. What bothered me most is not being ar... |

Yes, I can. Being a chemist, I am always interested in what creates light/matter in the universe. I have extensively studied their relationships and spend my nights working on my own theories relating to them. This is what I do in my down time. There is something major that I can see that is missing... |

As my member name suggests, I am a scientist by trade. I am in my early 40s and self-diagnosed my AS condition a few months ago. After reading up on AS, so many things that I experienced in my youth finally made sense. When I was in third grade, I was tested and put into the highly/extremely "gifted... |
