Heh...babies...;) My worst was called Platinol...chemotherapy, 5 days at a shot. Throwing up...I was looking for something small and hairy to come out, that would have been my a**hole... The first course had me completely comatose, and I'll pass over the other symptoms...wouldn't inflict that on any...

some places will pay by the word, but that's kinda old-school...
You might look at a web site called smashwords; there's a lot of 'how to' publishing and writing books and documents there...

My brother had a Hammon L-100, but it needed oil (to run the main cylinder). Not being too knowleeable, he put 10w-30 in there...sigh...great stage effect, clouds of billowing smoke, but that was the end of that.
I had a Crumar Tocatta for many a year, but had to sell it. Wish I had it back...

They probably subcontracted out the coding, anyway...they're interested in a minimum cost, mainly security, etc. Actually, I though MS gave up support on XP a year ago...though they've changed that story more than once.
