Yes, I do this too. Maybe because it's less distracting to look into the sky. |

Datasage, I think your advice is very good. The way I read it, the Alpha male is trying to control the situation, not the woman. As a woman, I can truly say that sort of confidence is what I find most impressive in a man. Really? Wow. The women that I've been with usually HATE being dominate... |

Wow... in addition to being a jerk, your dad sounds really immature. There's no need to stoop to personal insults like peice of sh*t, etc. You should tell HIM to grow up! |

I think the ratio is the same as NTs... although its possible that ugly Aspies are more likely to commit suicide, and that may disturb the balance a bit. |

Yes, I always eat in my room and then put the dirty dishes in a plastic tub. Once I have used all my dishes it's time to bring them upstairs and wash them all, then start over again... it's a pretty good system. |

I totally agree with you... a sense of belonging somewhere would be nice! |

But you can't expect other people to adjust or "fix" their behaviour... that's just wrong. |

For as long as I can remember, I've always loved blankets. When I'm with my family in the mornings, I'll wrap myself in one and shape it into a robe with a hood. From this vantage point I can talk without needing to look anyone in the eye. I think, for me, it's a kind of refuge. Do you have any pla... |

This is a great discussion! :D Now I don't feel so bad; I've never gotten along with my mom either. She doesn't know I have AS and if I told her, she would dismiss it. (She believes chronic depression comes from not being 'busy' enough). My whole childhood I was counting down the days until I could ... |

It's easier for men. If a man is considered to be 'eccentric' or 'a loner' or has 'blunt, straightforward way of speaking', then it's acceptable in most cultures. But for a woman to be anything like that is considered wrong by many. I can't tell you how many times I've been told I should act 'more l... |

Very amusing! It's nice to meet another person who appreciates the humor of Saruman, the white wizard, later known as "Saruman the Psychadelic". Let me see if I can augment this theme... |
