I wouldn't exactly say fraud or imposter, maybe a feeling of disbelief. Ever since i was first diagnosed, i run down the list of traits i was supposed to have, and only half or maybe even a third of the traits were really applicable. luckily i was never really bullied to any great extent, never had a the therapist or none of that crap, i ran around outside having fun in the sunshine with other kids. Luckily. Username doesn't match. :wink: I was never diagnosed as a kid, so i guess i passed for 'normal'. But philosophicaly speak... |

The reasons autistic children and teens turns to substances, like alcohol and inhalants, is simple: parents mistreat them, True, harm leads to dependency. Luckily as a youth my biggest addictions were videogmes and junk food. Luckily i grew up out of videgames and they lost their charm, and luckily... |

Does caffeine count as being a substance? Coffee seems to be my friend in January. Substance abuse comes in many forms. illegal/legal. wether they be pushed on your street corner or local doctors office. Now there's Mild and severe substance abuse. coffee is mild habit. Heroin would be a severe one. |

I would personally never accept mind tampering medications under any circumstance, but if you feel your problems are that severe, i would use them as a temporary crutch then try to wean yourself off them. How do you know what it's doing to your brain and body chemistry in the long term!? its an unna... |
