I'm in the process of being diagnosed for ADHD, or more likely ADD and I'm nervous about the whole thing. I read stuff like that ice berg and I start doubting myself, feeling insanely insecure about my problems being legit enough to warrant a diagnosis. I definitely get the feeling people don't thin... |

I don't think there's any toxins involved. I have 3 second cousins who are aspies and they come from the same blood line but different families. My brother has a son with autism. All my siblings most likely have ADHD. I'm being evaluated, with through the roof scores for ADHD (and just below cut-off... |

My husband made me write an essay to say why I should have children. I guess I passed his exam. Ha....he sounds like a riot. Yup. Good times. Six months after she was born premature he announced he was gay and left us. He's been in violation of child support and psychiatric care orders since 1997. ... |

Mrs Peel brings up something I feel needs much more awareness. She is absolutely correct- genetic changes can and do happen sometimes when a female fetus is developing her own eggs while inside her mother. So you may not see the full results of a mutation until that fetus has grown up and had her o... |

I don't really get why there is so much talk about aba distinguishing ASD traits. You teach skills just like you teach any other kid, apart from the focus and how you break it down to smaller chunks. There is no part in our program that includes stopping autistic behaviour. It's not even aimed at be... |

Had babies because I like kids.
Didn't have my DNA tested as there was no need for it. Had it tested later on and nothing showed up. The only known family genetic problem is loss of hair. I have a lot of hair. |

I see two of you in this thread diagnosed with ASD level 2. How come you've gone under the radar for such a long time? I mean, both my boys are ASD level 2 and there is absolutely NO WAY they'd be able to mask or anything to keep those people who would need to deal with them from not understanding s... |

I write javascript a bit like a play piano. When I play piano I start with a tune in my head and I just start hitting keys until I get something that sounds like the tune in my head then keep going one note at a time. Here are some thoughts. Browsers are all alike and they are all different. Every ... |

My teacher seem to be gone on vacation and I'm really late trying to finish my html course due to my boys being the highest priority (both autistic) and then there are of course my own ADD struggles :skull: I'm stuck trying to figure out how to manipulate elements using javascript. I have 18 <td> el... |

Ok seems we ended up a bit off topic here. Yes, it has been misunderstood. We would have wanted a third child regardless of that child would like to help out with his/her siblings in the future. To begin with I wasn't very happy about being excluded as I'm fully capable of producing children on my o... |

Jon81 Choices: I usually have a few choices for him at dinner. And here lately, I just make sure to have dino nuggets on hand so that if he doesn't eat anything we have a back up meal. I've learned that he will eat certain things like spaghetti sauce and meat but doesn't want noodles with it. There... |

One of the first people I talked to about it was a mother (friend of mine) with an autistic son. She didn't see it (at the time I was only looking it to it for my son) and seemed offended that I even suggested it. Like I was trying to be cool or something. I was so hurt and offended that it ruined ... |

Unless it's a professional or a parent with children of their own on the spectrum I wouldn't even want to hear the opinion of someone else. Both our sons are die hard autistics. You need to be a complete idiot to not understand it if you spend about 5 minutes with them. A professional would see it w... |

I remember reading something on here about a parent having two sons, one AS and the other HFA. According to him the AS was definitely more social, or at least tried to figure these things out while the HFA had less need of these thing. Apart from that there were no autistic traits that would set the... |

That is the easy answer and your conclusion is completely correct. However, what do you do in case of having a damaged nail and not having a clipper close |

Both me and my wife had our DNA tested a couple of months ago to see what's up. It was initiated by us because we need at least one NT kid to care for our boys when we are gone. I believe blood is thicker than water. One alternative my wife has now pursued with is using a male donor, cutting me out ... |
