So it seems my social interaction is average in itself, but the way I approach friendships may show too many clingy signs. Lots of people at work have complimented that they ''like working with me'' because I am ''fun to chat to'', and I know they're not just saying that because I do have a laugh wh...

Every day I live in confusion about people and Autism. The more I feel myself fitting in and interacting normally along with NTs (which I often do naturally), the more I get treated even more unfairly - even though I always see other people interacting exactly the way I just did. 1. When I was at sc...

For an Aspie, I am quite good at keeping friendships at a normal balanced level, and I talk to them on facebook. I don't see them every single week, enough to make it look like I'm a serious pressure on them. Anyway, it takes two to make up a good friendship - it's not just all on one or all on the ...

I have a few friends now, (more than I ever did at school), and I enjoy meeting up with them when we do, and I like doing social activities like bowling and going to the cinema, and having lunch out, and the more there are of us, the more I love it, especially if they include me in conversations, li...

I wish I was obsessed with objects or facts, instead of people. I always have been obsessed with certain types of people, ever since I was 11 or 12. And it really holds you back from falling in love with men who you are not obsessed with. At the moment I am obsessed with bus-drivers - I seem to fanc...

I've been biting my nails since I was about 18 months old, and I'm just so used to having really short nails now that there is just no point in trying to grow them. I don't want long nails anyway - I like keeping them much shorter than my fingertips. I can play the piano better with short fingernail...

I don't wear make-up, and I never have done, expect sometimes on the odd occasion. I am an attractive person, but people keep getting onto me that I look too young for my age, and that wearing make-up would help make me look more like a woman in her early 20s (which I am), rather than a 12-year-old....

I think males, whatever their neurology, has it easier in appearance. If a man has a bald head or very short hair, they can still look nice and turn women on, and they don't even have to do anything - except wear clean clothes. Even if a man doesn't shave, they can still get away with going out with...

I'm not sure if this is true or not (so don't go thinking I'm trying to offend or thinking I'm right or anything), but this is just what I've read somewhere. I've read that sometimes talking in a monotone means lack of confidence. And I've had personal experience of this too. When I'm with my family...

But things CAN work it for aspies and they don't ALWAYS work out for NTs right? My dad works with a man who has 4 boys - 3 NTs and one Aspie, and they are all aged between 17 and 23. But apparently the oldest is suffering from chronic depression, and the other NT can't seem to hold down a job. The ...

Well today I met up with a friend who has Autism (I have a milder form than he does, but he is still normal enough to lead an independent life). He stims very bad - always throws his arms up in the air and shakes his hands vigorously, and also makes unusual noises, like grunting and squeaking, and e...

Yes, sorry for the profanity, but it annoys me that somehow Aspies on WP have the idea that life is really easy for an NT. It isn't! My cousin is the most "typical" NT I know, and she still has problems. It's like we think that life would be perfect if we were NT, and that we wouldn't know the meani...

Is there any existing jobs what doesn't involve certain intelligence or customer service skills? This world holds such a big stereotype over people with poor social skills, such as myself. I'm fine with colleagues, but with customers I seem socially afraid of them. Also the world values people with ...
