Does he have an IEP? You should be talking to his case manager if he does. (If not, then by law he has to have one if he's diagnosed with Asperger's, and your school needs a kick in the pants.) It sounds like he needs to talk to a professional so you can get a recommendation. The key here is to find...

I pretty much parent my sister (she's six and I'm nineteen), and I just discovered I have Asperger's. My sister is a sweet, outgoing, clearly NT kid who loves spending as much time with her friends as possible, pretending to be a Rainbow Fairy (I'm buying her the Jewel Princess books so she can pret...

Oh, gods, I hate the 'no' thing. My friend's grandpa did it to me constantly when I was at her house for a sleepover. I had not the slightest idea what he was on about or why he kept cracking up. *shakes head* Just smile, nod, and wait it out. (If it helps, it sounds like they were trying to be nice...

I get sarcasm, but I don't get jokes. They're too many shades of subtle WTFness.

Do they know you're Aspie? If they do, you can always say 'I don't get it'. There isn't a whole lot else you can do, though.

(BTW, that is the cutest plushie EVER. <3)

Mine is sort of like a prayer as well, since I'm Pagan, but it works as an affirmation too.

I am Earth. I am eternal strength.
I am Water. I am love and compassion.
I am Air. I am intelligence.
I am Fire. I am pure, seamless passion.
I am Spirit. I am power.

Goddess give my Elements life.

I attended my high school graduation today, and it's official: I have no freakin' clue why everyone's so happy. I mean, it was fun to be around a bunch of happy people but...uh, why are we celebrating again? Aren't we supposed to graduate? It's sort of a requirement nowadays. And don't these people ...

I hate small talk with a passion, let me actually talk to you, if i want a conversation filler I'd rather say umm, hmmm, uhh, or something along those lines... As for me, I am slowly working on a list of "standard responses", unfortunatly, the only one I really use is "I'm good, you?" followed by a...

I can't figure out when someone's being sexist. At all. Unless they directly say\imply that they're being rude because I'm female, or they use a phrase like 'get in the kitchen' or 'make me a sammich', I just think they're being normal.

Does anyone else do that? And how do you deal with it?

I get heavy, irregular periods and weird PMS. I don't mind, though--it feels like energy is moving through my body, and I love energy work. :) I do mind the cramps, but ibuprofen helps a lot. Stress can make me skip, though. I hate that. I nearly skipped because of graduation, and it was driving me ...

Yeah, I've done this. (I actually thought this was my thread--I have two reasons to self-harm, and one is OCD symptoms. :p) It sounds like you need to practice meditation. When you feel like self-harming, stop. Immerse yourself in your emotions. Identify and name every single one. Then find and conf...

I don't like being around people for two reasons: 1. I feel like all of their energy is transmitted to me. All of their thoughts are sent to me. It is like I am reading their minds and it is too much to bare. Normally it is mostly negative and it is directed at me. 2. I feel like people are a threa...

Sometimes I have strange meltdowns where my emotions just shut off. I feel nothing. I'm in a quiet haze of nonexistence. It goes away, but it's quite frankly creepy.

Does anyone else get that? What should I do?

Who else gets them? And what's your favorite?

So far I've craved chocolate, pickles, sprinkles (just sprinkles--I think there was something in the cornstarch), and sour cream doughnuts. My favorite was the sour cream doughnuts. :)

What about you ladies?
