Day before yesterday I was wearing a mask because I had to buy something (and the stores are all requiring masks to enter), and the 2 women in line ahead of me at the checkout were not wearing masks at all. We are also supposed to be doing "social distancing" but I figured if they were wea... |

A Short Story I had gone to a seminar on Christian Missions Overseas.... The following morning, we were greeted by an administrator, who told us that every version of the Bible was welcome and could be used at any time during the entire seminar. By lunchtime, three student had gone home.... Nobody... |

I have a hard time not imagining this is the final collapse of western civilization. Every civilization rising, then cresting, then collapsing through history. It's happened in African civilizations, Middle Eastern civilizations, Asian, etc. etc etc. Why not here? Why not now? The domino-like collap... |

In one article people said that wearing a "bandana" would possibly racially profile them, but the law is stating a "mask". Which does not have to be a bandana. So... confused... |

There is a penalty named, but will they actually enforce it this time? The governor has said from the beginning "Do this" / "Don't do that", but then there was only token enforcement of anything. I'm seeing more people wearing masks right now, but I think it's because the stores ... |

I must not have to mask. Are there older members like myself who find it difficult to know where the mask ends and their true self begins? I've been masking for so long, the line is kind of blurred. I think I mask, or at least partially mask, all the time now. Yes, I've spent so much of my life mas... |

I support unions - but not where there is a potential risk to people (especially vulnerable) people. Carpenters' unions? Yes. Postal worker unions? Yes. Police unions? No. Nursing unions? No. I used to work in an industry that supposedly takes care of very, very vulnerable people. When I started the... |

It could be enforced if/where the government was willing to be somewhat or outright brutal about it. I think eventually the populace could be gotten to agree to it - as a whole, people eventually agree to even the stupidest things as long as it appears enough authority or peer pressure is pushing it. |

I totally agree with do *NOT* tell you have autism/aspergers. Several years ago I was having a huge hard time with my social work coworkers hating on me all the time (they were social workers - I was just a grunt worker who drove clients around), and when our boss called me in I told her I have auti... |

Thank you for this - very well put together. My challenges are often recognized in part by one person/group, but then that part isn't recognized by another person/group but they do recognize this other part, and so on. Rare to get the package acknowledged. Also, I had a workplace, for example, that ... |

This is why we may even struggle when hanging out with other "geeks" or "nerds". "Geek" and "nerd" subcultures and friends groups frequently develop social norms like any other group. If you're not good with that, you're out of luck. This became even harder w... |

I can also relate to this. I'm the person at work that everyone loves having around because I can make things happen, but I'm never included in the social stuff. Like I hear things like "I just love working with you! Ok, the rest of us are going to go have lunch. See you later!" I don't un... |
