essentially nonsense, but I think you may be wise in not picking a battle with your wife So when his wife talks nonsense you advice him to go along with it to keep the peace? I think that attitude is behind many problems between women and men today. She's a grown up and not a child and should be tr...

If you know that the things you say can come off as offensive, odd, or edgy, can you change that aspect of what you say to show that you are sincere and that you mean what you say? People may come to assume that you are saying something meant to be edgy even when you are not, so you may be creating...

I think TV today is trashy plain and simple. I could list 100 shows that are being made today that are not trashy at all. There are even more than that. (I'm talking about scripted comedies and dramas, not reality shows, true crime, game shows, talk shows). TV shows include series that are on strea...

I agree that homeopathy is nonscientific and is essentially nonsense, but I think you may be wise in not picking a battle with your wife and going along with it to appease her. I think it's unlikely to do any harm.

I have no personal experience with it.

Not that I didn't enjoy them necessarily, but many TV shows when I was young were incredibly stupid and inane, from Lost in Space to I Dream of Jeannie to Three's Company to Family Matters (the one with Urkel) to Perfect Strangers, and so on. Even good shows like Golden Girls were very simplisticall...

There's so much comedy being made and so much of it is funny, from stand up comedy specials to comedians doing podcasts to late night TV shows like Colbert, Kimmel, Meyers, the Daily Show and so on. Most of these are leftists and they are hilarious. I don't watch movies very often so I don't know if...

I think it probably comes down to how you define trauma. There's a clinical definition, and not everyone will meet that criterion. Then there's a more colloquial use of the word, and many people may feel that some experiences they have had were traumatic or traumatizing in that sense. There's also t...

I think not having lived at all or being dead would be great, even when things are not that bad, and certainly when tings are very bad. But dying is very very hard. I would not have the courage to end my life. There have been times I really wanted to and took steps, but in the end realized that I ju...

When I recently told my new partner that sometimes I feel, or I am, awkward and weird he said, "It sounds like you have new boyfriend." (Meaning him.) It was funny and sweet and understanding, a joking way of saying, "It's expected," or "That's how it is when you get togethe...

When something bad does happen, having worried about it for years does not make it any easier or any better. The problem you are experiencing is your anxiety over something possibly happening, not the events themselves, which have not happened and in all likelihood never will.

Wow!! I’ve finally found people who also don’t shave their legs We're a small minority even on WP, I think, but I wonder if that's an autistic thing to some degree. I find all personal grooming to be such a chore. I shower and make myself look tidy to go out, but if it wasn't for the sake of other ...

I deliberately avoid watching upsetting shows. I find it wrong and strange that while shows that are on TV won't show nudity they'll have a scene of someone being tortured. I don't understand how that is "entertaining." And how they aren't worried that a child or someone sensitive might co...
