I wouldn’t pay too much attention to ND political correctness; the target is still prevention & cures from the multiple types of autism out there. The point of the article is that there are reasons, other than "ND political correctness," why seeking a "cure" for most kinds o...

Nearly everyone with autism has some sort of official “learning disorder” of some sort, not to be confused with “intellectual disorder” which effects only some. This is because of the ways our minds work and the system of learning is nearly always tailored to NTs. The good news is unlike when I grew...

I saw him on tv giving interviews a few times, he never appeared to have any visible communication issues that p...

I feel like for “autistic guilt” to really be a thing, we would’ve had to have historically had advantages in society on account of our neurological condition. Which is most decidedly not the case. ) Yes. Its a dumb phrase. But you cant expect members of an internet forum to all be slick magazine g...

Although ive never served i should imagine it may be the worst job imaginable to an aspie or anyone on the spectrum. Lack of privacy, emphasis on team work, bullying both by officers & fellow recruits for being different and not fitting in. Finally huge amounts of time just sitting around forced...

Being black has been known about forever because it is usually obvious a person is black. Knowledge about autism is very recent. That has led to different disadvantages. I would say not knowing I was autistic until age 55 was a significant disadvantage. People usually do not deny your blackness or ...

I experience a lot of pressure from people and any support workers around me (including NHS staff) in the sense that they seem to expect me to hate myself because I am autistic. They constantly try to give me emotional support for my 'self-hatred' and can't undestand why I become upset because of t...

I'm getting increasingly irritated by people that misunderstand what neurodiversity was originally meant to be, and that have hijacked the terms so that neurodiversity today seems to be anything that differs from the NT norm, rather than the traits related to the broader autistic phenotype and rela...

I don't have a personal definition. It is a simple question. What is exclusionary in the ND movement? Nothing I have read shows it is. I have, however, seen a great deal of misrepresentation of the movement, and, oddly enough, from inside the community. But that tends to be based in anecdote and op...

She's been blasted by the Australian media for casting an NT as a non-verbal autistic girl. Funny nobody had a problem with casting NTs for "Temple", "The Accountant" and an NT to play the "Good Doctor" where all three characters were depicted by NTs playing characters...

There are probably many types of autism. The brain has a limited no of ways to express that something is not working properly, so that`s possibly why there`s the overlap in symptoms.

Most people in the UK know of these two celebs he hosts the one of the most popular tv shows “Top Gear” and his wife hosts a well known daytime show called “loose women” aimed at homemaking women who for whatever reason don’t choose to work. Together they probably bring in a large chunk of the UK vi...

The mRNA vaccines are a new technology that does not use the traditional method of introducing a dead or harmless part of a virus to create immunity so it’s not so easy to say this is just another vaccine like all the others. No human has taken an mRNA vaccine until recently so again long-term affec...

I’m not anti vax or against the vaccine altogether. If someone has serious health issues or is elderly the benefit/ risk ratio is such that taking the vaccine is probably the best choice. But you still haven’t answered the question why would those who are vaccinated and “protected” be concerned abou...

If I was an ND advocate I would be more interested in the drift to the idea of mandatory vaccines and the loss of sovereignty over health choices. Something im very much against, not because im anti vax but the idea of forcing people to take anything is wrong. Even if not accepting the treatment pu...
