I was at the same place as you, wondering do I work on my AS related issues, or my gender issues, primarily? I decided to first work on my gender and dysphoric feelings. I figure that it may help with some of my other issues, in regards to anger, anxiety, depression, guilt, etc. As for my orientatio...

when someone asks you "do you have sensory issues?" you're a lot more likely to say yes when you're very stressed than when you're completely calm. Not at all. Even when I'm completely calm, I'm very aware of my sensory issues. My memory sucks, but it's not bad enough to forget something like that....

You know, I don't fully understand why I couldn't recognize myself when I was a kid. I just vaguely remember having to train my brain to understand that was what I looked like. Perhaps that is normal though...and has nothing to do with being transgendered!! So far I can say that therapy is very bene...

I've talked to people about this before and have found it pretty much impossible to explain when someone asks "What do you think of when I say XYZ?". I've almost just wanted to answer 'nothing' to that question, but that isn't quite right either... I don't think in words and I don't see pictures bu...

Nowadays she recognises that some people think in (more or less photo-realistic) pictures; some think in patterns (or schematic diagrams); and some people think in words (concepts). Words and concepts are different thought processes. There are people who think in words and there are people like mys...

Are you also diagnosed with AS, or elsewhere on the spectrum? It is not uncommon for autistic people to feel "inbetween genders". By that, I mean it is more common among the autistic population than the NT population. Can I ask how old you are? I'm 26, and I've recently started "coming out", but I h...

It is great to know your options in your area, but do you think that one time is enough to base your conclusion on? I think it would be wise to at least use for a period of time, so you know how you react once the cannabis has built up in your system. There are many strains and potencies of marijuan...

I am female-bodied, but I have always identified as male. I've always known that my body wasn't quite right, but it wasn't until I was done maturing (around 20-21) that I started really realizing the enormity of spending the rest of my life trapped in this hell of a body. I've identified as transgen...

I am neither gay nor straight since I am third gender (I prefer to date only men, though). I don't publicly flaunt my sexual preferences or my transsexualism. I think most people don't care what is in my pants or what goes on in my bedroom. I will, however, participate in intelligent conversations ...

Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it. I was "Aware" of my sexuality my whole life, but I didn't know that there was actually a group of people who felt like me. The past five years I've learned a lot about being transgender/transsexual, but I couldn't fully let myself open up even to myself. It's ...

If I have something I'm doing at the same time as watching (reading, drawing, computer), then I'm okay. If I have to sit there and watch the movie, then I get stressed out.

So I've known my whole life that I am "different", and even though I look sort of like a girl, I have the mind of a guy. I've always felt trapped in this body I shouldn't have. It's in the past five years that I've had understanding of what this means, and actually only recently that I've been "out"...

The friendship you are describing takes time and trust and experiences to build, at least in my reality. Once you get to know someone more superficially it will become more obvious if there is going to be a chance for a better friendship. You have to start at the beginning, and get to know about a p...

Speaking of caring about what others think...I'm sitting down here minding my own business, smoking a fatty, when my parents show up without announcing themselves. (My biggest peeve)

So far my husband has held them off, and I'm hiding in my basement. Man, this is a nightmare, lol.

That is how my husband is, and I don't understand it. I have an inherent sense of direction, and I always seem to have a beacon that draws me toward my destination. I've always been this way, able to roam looooong ways even as a child and young teenager, and always have a sense of where I was and wh...

I experience laughter and humor in my head mostly. If I do laugh out loud, it's usually out of surprise/happiness, and it's like "hahahahaha" and I clap my hands and bounce. Things like: surprise presents, driving really fast through lots of puddles, or finding a new special interest can make me rea...
