I found that meeting people online doesn't work for me. However, there is a guy with AS who I'm interested in and vice-versa. I met him at my college as he hung around the same people I did and we've known each other roughly three years but have only recently started hanging out on our own times. Fo...

I have a nonverbal learning disorder, anxiety problems, and depression.

I stim by wringing my hands when I obsessively worry over something. I also flap my hands when I get excited.

Hi, NLD adult here. Asperger Syndrome is an autism spectrum disorder while nonverbal learning disorder is just what it is--a learning disability affecting your right brain hemisphere. People who have NLD have difficulty interpreting visual information, facial expressions, voice tone, sarcasm, jokes,...

Depression isn't funny at all. Neither is any other mental health illness for that matter. I suffer from a mild form of chronic depression that is well hid by anxiety disorders. Sometimes the depressive episodes are mild and other times, they become intense to the point to where I have violent thoug...

People read me wrong the same way. I have been told that some people don't talk to me because they thought I was stuck up because I didn't talk much and I tell them I kinda don't know what to say alot of times so I just stay quiet to avoid embarrassment. I get this too, exactly! Only for me it's no...

^^^ you are better at explaining this than I. I have an issue with that theory "theory of mind" thing. ... People can be very wrong about it. I have worked very hard to overcome what they call alexithymia, where you don't have the vocabulary to talk about your feelings. My problem is that when I ta...

I can't recognize my own voice tone, emotions, or facial expressions. People avoid sitting next to me on the bus because I think my facial expression gives them the impression that I'm mad when I'm not. I just don't feel comfortable talking to strangers because it's awkward.

How do Aspies and NLDers on here feel about lying? I don't understand why people lie about things in their lives to make themselves appear better than others. I have this one friend who exaggerates about things and makes up these outlandlish stories about family members that I'm pretty sure don't ex...

Here's my take: chemotherapy will weaken a person's immune system and makes them more vulnerable towards illness not related to the disease the chemotherapy is supposed to be treating. If their body is too weak from the chemo, any illness they have or will catch eventually kills them because of the ...

I did not want to hear your claims of our other friends being pathological liars when I am pretty sure you are the pathological liar. I will not be hanging out with you...

In my limited experience of this I've noticed that with some women, if they show interest in you and you turn them down/completely miss it then they don't want to be friends no matter how you go about it. Give it a try, but if she doesn't want to be friends it may be more the situation then what yo...

A friend of mine told me recently that he would flirt with me all the time last year. The sad thing was I didn't know he had been flirting with me until he told me.

I misread a lot of that stuff and that includes physical contact.
