I was accused of derailing a thread last night when nothing could be further from the truth. I was pissed off and I'm still pissed off this morning. It's just f*****g ridiculous!

The weird thing is that I don't believe I was even close to being off topic or derailing the thread in the discussion about Alex Jones.

Buy hey, people have to get their shorts in a knot rather then ignoring a few sentences on a message board.

Thats a conundrum that often stimulating conversations can be generated from a thread but the topic needs to be adhered so that those vested in the topic can keep the discussion relevant. I think my comments were quite pertinent to the conversation. But others know better, so rather than ignore my ...

I just get really tired of the "derailing the thread" accusations. I don't even know what it's supposed to mean here, the thread isn't in News, it doesn't have a defined subject beyond whether or not Alex Jones is an anti-hero or a villain, nothing that has been said has taken the thread ...

I don't understand this obsession with topics going off track. Most of the time I think I'm well within the parameters of the topic. But even if I'm not, who cares? People are free to ignore the comments-- and move on with their lives.

But feel free to run off the mod thread everytime things don't go the way you think they should. To be fair I get a gentle prod when i go off topic but I take it collegially rather than antagonistically. I don't think I went off topic at all. I'm just miffed that people can't just ignore my comment...

I think my points were very valid. But no doubt I will be penalized for them, and Fnord, one of the protected class on this site, will cruise along as always. f**k this place! C'mon Veggieman, everything people say on WP is subject to scrutiny. Fnord is equally scrutinised like everyone else. I jus...

Your point seems to be: “Someone else did something worse, so Alex Jones should not be punished for his crimes.” Am I correct so far? If so, then this is similar to saying, “What about Hillary?” every time someone reveals another of Mr. Trump’s screw-up so that the thread will be derailed into anot...

The reason you get crackpots like Jones is largely because our media cannot be trusted. We're are being assaulted by lies daily from them at the behest of the corporate powers that run our government. Disinformation is disinformation regardless of the source. CNN, MSNBC, and Fox news is every bit a...

There is no valid reason to blame the faceless, formless media when Mr. Jones decided for himself -- of his own volition -- to spread lies, doubt, and suspicion. That just proves you don't understand the nature of our media. You might want to read 'Manufacturing Consent.' It would be an eye opener ...

Clearly he is lying but...here's the thing, it doesn't matter because he is being bankrolled by millions of nutters who are also probably (not surprisingly) MAGA/QAnon believers. Then they are supporting someone for whom the word ‘Slimeball’ is a compliment. To use a fisherman's metaphor - they fal...

One thing I agree with Alex Jones on is his stance on America's foreign policy, specifically the endless military interventionism. That I respect.

Yeah, lots of problems with people getting too close to black bears, elk, and other wildlife where I hike in the Smokies. I don't care what happens to these potential Darwin Award candidates, it's the animals I'm concerned about. If they do attack, they will most likely be euthanized.
