Flapping my hands, it's quite fun also to look at a light sideways and wiggle your fingers next to your eyes so the light strobes. |

I think they are the same thing. The only difference is that those classified Aspergers have speech and some social ability. Just like other disorders or illnesses or whatever you want to call them, people are at different levels. For example I know a boy Cameron with cerebral palsy who can walk una... |

I agree with the OP, I dislike the word symptom. I generally say trait when speaking of handflapping or spinning, things others would call symptoms. |

I like anything that is short, so I prefer aspie and autie especially when writing. I can't think of anything worse than those poor souls with Pervasive Developmental Disorder Not Otherwise Specified. Too damn LONG! |

I'm glad to see someone defending the animals, I can't stand seeing children chasing birds or hurting animals and the parents do nothing. But you know what...I also can't stand seeing a child hurt by an adult. You threw rocks at a child with the serious intention to hit her? Fair enough to just thro... |

My advice is to give the diet a try, do it for a couple of months strictly and then see how you feel at the end of it. If you feel good, keep it up! If there's no difference and you are miserable not being able to eat certain things, go back to normal eating. Nobody here can really answer because ea... |

This thread goes to show how misunderstood Aspergers is, even in the medical community. I guess in fairness to doctors, they can't be knowledgable about every illness and condition. I have another condition that can be very hard to find a doctor who knows about it and knows the correct treatment. As... |

Of the aspies I've met in person, few of them have had the qualities necessary for meaningful friendship. They are usually lacking in several qualities that almost make you think they're not very interested in making friends. See if these apply to you, and explain whether you mind and whether you w... |

I'm a little confused about what the actual reason was for kicking you out. Was it because your boyfriend drove you and that's against the rules? Or did they actually tell you that an autistic person can't be a Big Sister? |

If Aspergers is a gift, why do lots of people here moan? Because Aspergers is not accepted in our society. Aspergers is a gift, we should be proud of ourselves. But we are bullied and beaten down every day because of it. It's like 60 years ago, if you were black you would be segregated and discrimin... |

If it's random words and numbers, has he tried perhaps making a collage of those words and numbers? Like cutting them out from magazines, getting number stickers etc and sticking them on paper or maybe even a scrapbook? Sometimes visually seeing things that are floating in your head can settle them ... |

I relate completely. My theory is that some Aspies like you and me are probably pretty likable and friendly, and people usually like us and want to be our friends. But after enough time with us, they start to notice things about us that are not quite right. They probably don't even consciously know ... |

I've never agreed with any kind of disabled or autistic kid being allowed to do whatever the hell they want because they are autistic. They need to stop their kid bothering people and redirect him into something more positive, like some of the suggestions here a proper drum kit. |
