Metalcore! Not many people consider it as real metal, but I'm one of the people that do. I mean come on, it literally says "metal" in the name! Some bands I listen to a lot are Bad Omens, The Amity Affliction, and The Gloom in the Corner. I don't have any particular favorites because my &...

It appears you are using a lot of words to say very little. It would be more clear if you stopped trying to imitate Thomas Aquinas and just got to the point. Anyway, the objections to the idea that autism is defined by a lack of empathy aren't based on a moral argument, they are based on the idea th...

It's a well documented fact that continued stress damages the immune system.

The point is those conditions are not just mere hallucinating or mood swings, there are negative and motor symptoms possible as well, and they have neurodevelopmental origins too, often not kicking in till puberty, but scientists of have watched videos of people with schizophrenia or bipolar when t...

What is disturbing to me is that over the years there have been so many words that were legitimate descriptors or medical diagnosis and went through the following process. 1. They became pejoritives and insults 2. Because of that the became "politically incorrect" to use 3. Another word w...

I'm also in! Although probably not exactly a heavy metal lover. Anybody into Ayreon? From oldies my favorites are Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath. Animals as Leaders, Blind Guardian, Katatonia, Moonspell, Slipknot, Stratovarius, Therion are the first to pop into my head. I like also folk metal bands ...

Where does schizophrenia, schizoaffective, bipolar during mood cycle dips, head injury fit in your consideration of empathy? I don't expect you to know them, this is a question looking for an answer from you if you have one. If not, there is no need for an answer, but a reply would still be nice. I...

In case you haven't noticed, autistic is increasing popularity on the internet as an insult, and if we want to be accepted as part of the community we CANNOT tolerate such usage of the term. While some people can just rub off their identity being used as an insult, for others it cuts like a knife, a...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01qiEmrZTKw Seriously, Extol is the most underrated subgenre-switching band in the world. Have you heard their self titled album? It's like Synergy on steroids I haven't heard ANY of their albums, I've only heard a few songs of theirs. Considering that song is from t...

Favorite subgenre would probably be progressive or alternative. I also symphonic a lot, but all the bands kinda sound the same. Also a big fan of 2000's style melodeath like In Flames, Soilwork, and Scar Symmetry.

Some do, but many don't. The sample you get from the forum is kinda biased, especially when you're going just with the people who respond to a thread with a loaded title.
