In fact you could say that Adam Lanza was acting out the "character"/role of the USA to perfection, though on a *much* smaller scale; armed to the teeth, killing people that he/the USA has decided constitutes an enemy, and with them lots of incidental victims, ( because they were running around scre...

A lot of people seem to be missing the point of this and some other posts I've made since the shootings. Maybe I'm being to ambiguous. Maybe just generally unclear. There is one issue related to this event that we all, I think, know needs to be addressed. We talk about it all the time, and debate o...

Personally I suspect medication and/or food-opioid induced/aggravated mental disturbance, ( he was very thin apparently often a sign of gluten-intolerance, or other chemical intolerance, and/or metabolic issues generally, vitamin or mineral deficiencies and consequently fragile/explosive mental sta...

Absolutely agree that being on the autism spectrum has nothing to do with capacity for/tendency towards violence, and that there are way too many articles, blogs etc circulating which seem to be taking for granted or suggesting that there is despite there being no evidence for such a link. It appear...

Someone already mentioned icecream, and soy-sauce, which have gluten in them, ( "tamari" is the name of the equally traditional but less widely available gluten-free version of soy-sauce; try healthfood shops for it ). And there are many other hidden and often surprising sources of gluten, almost as...

"The Thing" is one of my all time favourite films too; the things which I hated/had trouble dealing with when younger have since become the most interesting things about it, by which I mean the "weird people" and their solitary grumpy disillusioned, permanently angry, socially bizarre, etc behaviour...

:D Wow! Shatbat, i"m still doing "press-ups" in an *upright* standing position ( leaning at about 45° against a door ) and I still struggle with the last inch or two ( nose approaching door )! I've always had massively feeble arms though. One reason I want to carry on doing this is for the arms and ...

I have just joined/subscribed to CLEAR ( Cannabis Law Reform Group @ http://www.clear-uk.org ) because it is clear to me that criminalising drugs is soo not useful, soo not helpful, and is also almost always the result of lobbying by powerful vested interests rather than any cool logical reasoning a...

The drug-like effects of carbs on some people are amazing. If I hadn't experienced them first hand, I'm not sure I'd believe it. ^^^^^ Ditto ditto ditto. I agree; it is shocking, and almost unbelievable. There are several possible "cascades" of complex inter-related biochemical effects ( impacting ...

That's great, Shatbat! :D Kjas, I love chicken hearts too, don't get them very often though, and chicken livers as well so long as they're organic/bio/free-range. :) ... Re. cereals: yes, it is extremely frustrating not to be able to eat starchy cereals especially the glutenous grass-grains/seeds be...

Fun cardio this morning. Spent 20+ minutes on warm-up, ( it seems to take my muscles and/or tendons and/or blood/circulation? a long time to really warm-up, relax and get moving ), using a Japanese and then a German warm-up routine on Youtube, and then switched to a new Japanese video that we found ...

Definitely into paleo when I can stick to it, which is much easier in summer. Definitely does wonders for my general health and fitness and energy levels, and my mood when I do it right. ... But I do like to include a bit of yoghurt on and off/in bursts for the probiotics/friendly bacteria. :)

Well done Kjas, Shatbat and everyone keeping at this! :D Tuesday I/we walked briskly for about 35 minutes, most of them in a gorgeous wooded and semi-abandoned parkland/estate near here on the way to the out-of-town-supermarket, ( walked back the short way with the bags of shopping ) and on Wednesda...

Well done, both! :D Now I'm past 60kg, and going up. Just realized that my lack of fast progression in pull-ups was because of carrying 3 more kilos around :D I just realised that too this last week! In fact it could be that the approx 6-8 kg ( I haven't checked for the last 2-3 weeks ) that I put o...
