They're functioning well enough to go live life and not spend time as a regular on a forum of any sort.

Absolutely without a doubt definitely wasting time. 2nd runner up: sporting goods, especially kites. At full retail prices (which I didn't pay - more like 1/2 due to savvy shopping) I've got the better part of $10K worth of surf kites & related gear. This Summer will be the first time I ge...

Sounds like someone needs to smoke a joint before going to busy social places like that. After all, it is called high functioning for a reason.. I don't do drugs, ever. And look where that's gotten you.. right where you are; anxious & upset. I'm not saying drugs are the answer to everything. I'...

It's important for me. Even when I've been heavier myself, I've still only been attracted to slim/thin/fit/athletic types vs. overweight or obese. I'm currently in pretty good shape and keeping that way or better. So far so good with that. I suppose if shape/size aesthetics aren't important criteria...

It's funny how even 30+ single women, even the ones I met through dating sites, ask the famous irrelevant question "Why are you single?" in a surprised tone. Am I supposed to not be single yet browsing a dating site? I mean hello? I wouldn't be dating her if I wasn't single, Duh!! My usual answer i...

Another possible explanation is the aspie trait that internal thoughts are sometimes verbalized, so you're thinking about the other things you've got to get done before you consider getting in the pool and still formulating your answer while your mouth is giving a live play by play of your thought p...

Anyone with autism/aspergers/hfa/lfa whatever - just a broad catch all phrase for the entire autistic spectrum from extremely low functioning severely autistic non verbal people to very high functioning and difficult to notice the subtle autistic traits of some Aspies. We're all on the spectrum some...

There's such a broad range of potential sensory symptoms that we each will experience different things, sometimes at random, sometimes brought on by stress/anxiety. If you've been really stressed lately, or over tired due to insomnia, then it could be brought on by that. If nothing's out of the ordi...

^

It's called successfully finding out how to treat their AS & successfully learning coping mechanisms so that they can function higher and better in life and society - but they still have the condition; that'll never change.

Move here where our water supply hasn't been fluoridated since the early 70's. :D

Or install a filtration system under your sink with it's own tap to remove as much of the fluoride as possible.

I don't have hypersensitive skin, but to some things yes. Certain trees/plants have caused instant rashes - especially a yellow cedar, once. As for allergies to soap/cosmetic ingredients, I know I'm sensitive to salicylate acids so I avoid the organic plant derived stuff completely and use dove sens...

I think you can improve your ability to function in society at a higher level via various treatments/therapies/practices etc (and I have, too.) but that you'll never actually not be on the spectrum. If you were truly off the spectrum you wouldn't have to make a continuous intellectually processed ef...

Talk with your school counsellor and see what they think the best option for you is. If you'd do much better with fewer people around, it may be worth a shot & may be worth having a counsellor or doctor discuss it with your father and explain that you're not trying to take the easy way out, you'...

The more I think about it it's kind of a combination of the things I listed above.. and I've done similar things in the past, despite them not being in my finances' best interest. I'm much more controlled about things like that now than I've ever been, though, so it's not as if we can't change or im...
