I do not suffer from motion sickness but my children and grandchildren do. So I prepared a blend of essential oils to deal with the problem. They just dab a drop or two on their wrist. Whenever they feel queasy, they just bring their wrist up to their nose and take a whiff. It seems to work for them...

I am almost 70 and do not experience arthritis. But I can feel a thunderstorm coming about a day ahead. My bones seem to ache. Since you live in the U.K. where the weather can be on the cool side and damp, perhaps that may be related. Is your inflammation/arthritis seasonal?

I don't have much trouble with electronics. Generally most of my electronics are protected with Tripp Lite Line Conditioners. The voltage stability of the A/C voltage is less than desirable and can damage electronics. The problem with some older electronics is that they used rubber belts or o-rings ...

Around 40 years ago I bought a water bed and have used it ever since. It is warm and conforms to my body. I lay down and within 20 minutes I am sound asleep.

After college I applied for a position to 200 companies in person and sent out another 300 resumes. All to no avail. Then almost by accident I obtained a job and worked for almost 40 years and then retired. Sometimes you just need to try and try and try again. In my case, the lack of success was due...

You might just continue communicating to her as friends and see where it goes. I really don't do Facebook. Many times when you receive a friends request, it is actually an automatic request from Facebook that has analyzes your friends and is trying to expand your linkage. So she may have not initiat...

It seems like non-verbal learning disability (NLD) is a subset of Aspies. They are those with problems in the right hemisphere of the brain. These individuals have problems with visual and spacial awareness, higher order comprehension, social communications, math concepts, and executive function. NL...

I agree that obsession sounds weird. When I was in my senior year of high school, they held a career day. I signed up for a few talks from individuals doing different careers. What I found interesting is the most of the boys in the class signed up for morticians. For some reason many found that to b...

Many thousands of years ago, people sat around a fire and some told stories in the dark. I am still a 4 year old at heart and I enjoy listening to stories. As time evolved the method of storytelling changed. From plays, to books and to movies. So generally I satisfy this need by watching movies or t...

Generally I would say "No". But I have a quality called tenacity. And in some circles tenacity is a very valuable quality. I applied for acceptance to a certain university and they said "No." I asked for a reconsideration and they said "No" again. After about the 5th ti...

cubedemon6073 said, "It pains me to say this but the truth is if you have an ASD do not go into IT." I tend to disagree. There are many different types of jobs in the IT area and some Aspies are highly qualified to work in this area. They are not all help desk jobs. I agree with Fnord on t...

I was in the National Guards for 6 years. It was good supplemental income. It required 6 weeks of boot camp and then a few months of technical school. After that it was one weekend per month. If she has a high school diploma, she might apply. It is regimented so if she is good at following orders, s...

I really enjoyed the sitcom “The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis” when I was a boy. It aired from 1959 to 1963. As I rewatched the series episodes, I quickly saw this was a television show about Aspies under the lens of rose- colored glasses. Maynard G. Krebs was a beatnik, but if you look closely he was...
