Right now, I work two jobs. Both are data-entry. I've been at the first job (the morning job) 21 months; I've at the second job 33 years. With the second job, I will get a pension when I retire. Both only require a high school diploma. I did get my bachelor's (in speech pathology and English), at ag...

It's possible that I was "diagnosed" with autism around age 3-4 or so. My mother discounted the diagnosis; the prognosis for people with autism, from the viewpoint of clinicians, was extremely poor during the 1960s. She refused to institutionalize me. Autism was quite a different disorder then. Perh...

3 terra-cotta pots 12 inches in diameter, and about 2 feet high. One of them broke--put them in the trunk of my car instead of between the seats--stupid move!

Fist-bumps are the epitome of neurotypicality. They are used to prevent the transmission of disease. Handshakes are seen as more risky. I prefer handshakes myself.

There's irritation with "Autism Speaks" because they seek a "cure" for autism.

They believe autism is a tragedy, and that there are no redeeming qualities about it. Autism, at times, could be interpreted as "going into oneself in order to emerge, again, into the world."

I skied once, about 1999 or so, in Vermont. Used a rented boot; felt like I was going to get gangrene; took the boot off; snowboarded instead.

Do you like to shovel wet snow, or fluffy snow?

Social research is excellent for Aspies, ironically. I think this sort of major can serve can clarify some reasons behind the need for social niceties which seem extraneous at first glance to Aspies (they sure seem extraneous to me!) As I ponder, I believe a considerable portion of the reasoning beh...

I also play to win LOL, though I'm not super-competitive. I believe in good sportsmanship. I don't tend to oppose ideas outright. I do have opinions and impressions, though--there is fluidity in my opinions, but there is a steadfastness in them as well. I enjoy the Socratic type of dialogue--perhaps...

Wouldn't you agree that anatomical research of that nature is somewhat limited? For one, it is not a study of dynamic evolution, such as what Duchesne (spelling?) found with an acceleration in the increase in brain mass in the first two years of life, thus decreasing the "quality" of axonal connecti...
