This is not the experience I had with my computer science courses so far. I am also a computer science major. (Yet again.) Basically, how I studied was with copious notes of everything the professor said, whether I understood it or not, and drew on the board, whether it looked coherent or not, and b... |

Good one. An inkling of me thought that it might be true, even though I was already aware that it is April Fool's; I guess that was just my possible AS deluding me. |

You did the right thing. It was good that the manager recognized that it was a problem. I would doubt that the employees will continue make comments like that in the store in the future. |

I don't think the article means to disparage people with Asperger's, who obviously can't help their condition. I think it was just to point out the emotional immaturity of upper class, influential males who have been sheltered their entire lives and the consequences of their realization of it. The A... |

I though that study was only saying SSRIs didn't help depression. From their release there were always doubts about their efficacy for that problem. I don't think you can say the same for anxiety and OCD. I'm taking Zoloft, an SSRI, for both of those problems, and it is working somewhat well for me.... |

Quote: Don't forget, for a lot of people with AS a few hours of interacting with others is completely exhausting so a 40 hour work week feels like twice that.
More like 40 times that, haha. |

What school did you attend? I would rather not say since this is a public forum, but in computer science it was in the Top 100. And why is it you HAVE to attend a TOP level school to be worth, crap? What is it exactly you are asking? No one is saying you have to attend a top level school. Any accre... |

The US has one of the worst which is probably why there aren't very many engineering jobs anymore Hmm. Just noticed your little unfair swipe at America's engineering schools, Metal_Man. You are flat out WRONG about this. The engineering schools in the US are TOP NOTCH and have GREAT facilities. I h... |

But anyways, now the ANSWERS: 1. Should I stay or go? Atlanta? Go. It's metropolitan, but since it is in the south, it is affordable. In the suburbs there are good public and private schools. Maybe in the inner city too, in the right neighborhoods. There are plenty of good colleges, public, private ... |

I have researched Zoloft (sertraline) and several other drugs that work against anxiety and social anxiety extensively before getting on it. I was compulsively obsessive about finding information about a drug to help me with my compulsive obsessiveness. In my research, I found that Zoloft in particu... |

Thanks for your reply. I think I understand the meaning of #5 now and know an area I may need to focus on. In the right environment (when you find it) those around you will eventually get used to the fact that you are brief, to the point, and do not "beat around the bush". This is an advantage in go... |

ozbiker, thanks for your valuable post. i get the sense that you have a lot of experience behind your words. i have a question about the following 5. Forget about reporting and report writing. AS does fine at this although the reports tend to be somewhat breifer than NT reports. The facts - that's w... |

yes, except my grades have been pretty good and now i am getting back into computers. i think it's important to accept that you can't accomplish everything in computers. i have had to do that. i will probably not singlehandedly write a program that passes the turing test. most likely you will be wor... |
