I have spent a lot of my summer in my room at my computer, writing in forums and watching YouTube videos. And though what I've been doing interests me, I've wanted to actually accomplish something all summer. I have had to interect with family members on a daily basis and there have been a few argu...

Oh, I love that last sentence! With your permission, I'm going to take it as my personal motto.

Oh ... well ... yes .... be my guest.
It is yours to do with as you will.

Yeah, still not understanding. Why should it matter? Does it matter? Who cares? We're all descended from the same apes, in any case. Hell, most of us here are aspie or autie - which has greater genetic variation to NT's than skin colour. Didja know that? So, who cares...? I find that most people wh...

I am losing my intelligence... I have felt it escalating for many months now. First I noticed that I misunderstood things more often than usual, and I needed more detailed explanations than usual. My comprehention and perception skills and my ability to reason seemed to be diminishing. Now I have n...

I'm not talking about savant skills here. I seem to respond very differently to music then any NT's that I have met. For example when my friends listen to music they mostly listen to the words. I never listen to the words and I find it very difficult to listen to them and so I know hardly any words...

So, I am perceived as a threat? That would make sense from an anthropological perspective I suppose.

Trust me, there's nothing theoretical about it - it's an everyday social reality.

Well if it comes down to it, a lot of wives will exclude single mothers in the way that they'd exclude any unattached female (as a general policy).... simply because they regard them as a potential threat to their own marriages. Who knows - if you'd been attached, maybe you'd have been invited ... i...

It's hard for me to get upset about the stereotype because I am the classical Asperger's-geek. I naturally fell into IT as the best fit for my strengths and weaknesses. The only thing about more right-brained careers is that they tend to require a lot of schmoozing and relationship-building and Asp...

Sounds rather like the OP may have something of a susceptibility to schizophrenia. If she's happier remaining undiagnosed and it causes no distress, then there's little to be gained from seeking a psychiatric diagnosis. I think you have to turn your hallucinations into some kind of conspiracy theor...

clue: It is considered rude to ask "why?" when you are asked a SIMPLE question. This goes for all human beings, both AS and NT. However, if the question is more advanced, asking "why?", may not be so rude, but it is STILL considered somewhat rude. Nobody likes to be asked "why?". There may be some ...

I have frequently experienced abuse of the verbal or emotional kind throughout my 23 years of existence and I've come to the conclusion that verbal abuse and bullying are an instinctive human behaviour. I can think of no other reason for the lack of a more scientific term being applied to the behav...

I just thought I'd share this. In the midst of my assessment my psychologist asked me, "What goes on the surface of a road?" She wouldn't give me any clues. I was a bit puzzled, and then I answered, "The tarmac and then white lines" Apparently, NT people will answer this question by saying 'vehicle...

My natural instinct is to ask why whenever I am questioned about anything. Many times I don't ask because I know people do not like being questioned, including myself. However it is always in my head. Why? Why? Why?

Natural paranoia.
