Hey everyone,

Does anyone here know of any popular maths journals? I'm thinking along the lines of "Wired", "Nat Geo kids" or anything made for the public.

My dream at this point would be to illustrate different maths concepts nicely and make works of art inspired by them, then publish this in some popular maths journal. (Akin to how they publish crosswords, photos or those small articles). What career would that be called?

Most "popular" science magazines avoid math. There are puzzle magazines which sometimes include math puzzles.

I have many "Suduku" puzzle books - but while logic is a branch of mathematics, there are no calculations involved.

Dell and PennyPress publish puzzle books. Also Kappa. The Kappa puzzles tend to be a bit harder.

Scientific American is really more American than Scientific. Popular Mechanic's online offerings sometimes cover popular science topic in depth enough to capture my interest.
My 11 year old likes Muse by Cricket, it is a "science and arts magazine for kids".

Not a Maths Journal - however
I recommend, from personal experience, that you find the following books in your free library or buy or rent on-line:
(If your library does not have the books you can write a letter or fill out a form asking them to get these books - Libraries are always interested in buying new books that are valuable to the library patrons).

Life of Fred books:

My family has many of these books and my kids really love them. Sometimes I will just pick one up and read it because it is so much fun (and I like some kinds of math, like Geometry, a lot).
They are really good books.
